azalea sighed, turning off her phone. she stared at the blank wall in front of her, debating if she should really get up at 12 at night and go for a walk. she bit her lip, she has nothing to lose.

"what are you doing out this late azalea?" the woman at the front desk asked, azalea fixed the bottom o her large tshirt and looked at her, "oh, just going for a quick walk, you know, to clear my mind." the woman nodded, waving her off.

she took a deep breath as she got outside, god she hate that nasty woman. her name was vicky and she once dropped off a raggedy old cat on azaleas doorstep with a note that read, "found this cat right outside the building, looks like you would own it! i hope you didn't miss her too much." azalea didn't have a cat, and it was a male cat, one that was very aggressive and left azalea with bloody stratches all over her arms and face.

"good afternoon, stephanie!" henry yelled, tipping his beige cowboy hat as she walked past. azalea smiled and waved at the tall man, "its nighttime henry!" she yelled back, not bothering to correct him. he laughed loudly, with his head back, the shine of his glasses reflecting the bright moon. henry always hung around somewhere nearby, only ever wearing his american flag speedos and his guitar in hand, he always wore his sunglasses even at night and was strumming national anthem, by lana del rey. a man of taste if you were to ask her.

one of her favorite parts of the city were the odd people, a bit scary, but always interesting.

she hummed a random tune as she walked down the street, clutching her taser as if her life depended on it, because it did.

"evening, miss." the man at the register said, the bell ringing as azalea opened the door to the small gas station. she decided now was a good time to get some snacks to eat when she went home to watch disney movies or crime documentaries.

she would've gone for a drive, but she couldn't do that without thinking of alex, since thats what they'd do when one of them couldn't sleep. so she settled for a walk late at night, in the city, full of creepy old drunk men, who couldn't respect boundaries. in other words, an adventure.

"is this it?" the man asked, azalea nodded as she waited for him to scan her small bag of cheez its and coke. "alright." he handed her the black box and went over to the nachos stand, because she made the decision to get those cheap, weirdly yellow nachos that her mother would slap her silly for even thinking about, she'd probably throw in a quick 'gringa' too.

"have a nice night!" she said to him, stuffing the snacks and drink into the bag the man gave her before continuing to wander farther from her apartment building.

meanwhile, alex was distracting himself with piles of work, working on dreamsmp stuff, school work, anything that'll keep his mind off the actual problem.

"maybe if i just call him we can talk it out, i can tell him about jake and then maybe he'll understand why that was my go to. oh god why didn't i ever tell him about jake? that totally wouldve explained it, of course i wanna date him-" azalea turned around, seeing the stray cat that had been following her, and was talking, or ranting to, no longer following her.

she sighed, readjusting the bag on her arm as she continued walking, probably completely lost by now. and just to top it all off, she felt, one, two, three, then multiple, raindrops hit her head. it was fucking raining. azalea was lost, in los fucking angeles, at somewhere around 1-2am and now it was raining.

"oh god, oh no. fuck." she groaned, wiping her face from the cold raindrops that fell on her. she scanned the area for anything or any place she might recognize. "oh no, you are fucking joking." she laughed, looking up, "god, if you're real, you better be fucking kidding me." she said.

alex's apartment was just up ahead, azalea bit the inside of her cheek. what if he just doesn't let me in? hes not heartless, i didn't fuck up THAT bad... i think, azalea thought

now this, was some romcom shit, azalea running in the rain, the streets lining the streets were the only things giving off light expect for the moon, the loud rain pounding onto the pavement.

is it too late to turn back? yes, yes it is. she decided, knocking on the door, and immediately regretting it.

"hello- azalea? what the fuck?" he said, laughing a bit but coughing and straightening his face. "azalea, what the fuck are you doing here." he asked, "okay, so, long story short... iwentonawalkbecauseiwasstressedabouthowbadimessedupbutendedupgettinglostandbecausegodfuckinghatesmeitstratedrainingandinoticedyourplacewasreallyclose. and now i'm here, nachos?"

"jesus fucking christ." he said, sighing, "tell me about it, dude fucking hates me." he laughed, opening the door for her, "let me grab you some clothes." "thank you, thank you, thank you." she said happily, walking in and leaving her wet shoes and socks at the door.

azalea left her wet tshirt hanging above the shower to dry and slipping the large sweatshirt over her head, tying up her tangled hair into a bun.

"okay, so what happened?" alex asked. "first, i'm sorry, let me explain because i never got a chance too." she said, sitting down, a bit far from him. "so basically, ever since my ex boyfriend cheated on me last year i've been fucking horrified to try anything romantic with literally anyone because i'm a pussy, also a very unstable person."

"see, if you would've just told me that instead of, "i cant see myself settling down AT ALL." it would've been a different story." she sighed, "i know, i was telling sombrero about it." he looked at her, "someone actually named their kid, sombrero?" he laughed. "no, no, it was a stray cat that followed me for a while, his hair was all matted on top of his head and looked like a hat. he was a very good listener." she said, lying her head back. "azzy, it was a cat."
