You've always been quite adventurous. When you were younger, you and your father used to walk to forests, climb mountains and all that. Even though your dad was 30 years old, he still had the mind of a 8 year old when it came to adventures.

// flashback to 5 years ago.\\

"Hey dad, it's the last day of the holidays, can we go climb a mountain today?" your 15 year old self asked. You were always very enthusiastic when it came to adventures.

"No sweetie, not today." Your dad told you, with his eyes glued to his laptop. "I'm a bit busy with work."

"Oh okay." You walked off and went to your room, where you watched tv as you had nothing else to do.

After a few hours, you mother called you down for lunch.

As you, your mom and your dad sat at the dinner table, you asked "are you still busy dad?"

He nodded. "Yes y/n, please stop asking me while I'm working. It's getting annoying"

Your heart broke into a million pieces, your dad never acted like this before. "Well if that's how you feel, I'll never ask again." You got up and stormed off to your room.

You sat on your bed, staring out the window. The sky was bright blue. You've always admired the sky. When you were a little younger, your dad told you, "Only from the heart can you touch the sky."

It was 7 years since he told you and you still remembered.

A loud bang came from outside your locked door. "Y/n stop being childish, open up your door" your dad called out from the other side of the wall.

"Go away" was what you replied with. Little did you know those were going to be the last words you'd ever spoken to him.

Your dad and mom went to go do some food shopping.

You suddenly got a call from an unknown number.

"Hello, is this y/n l/n?" A masculine voice spoke. You hummed in response, a bit confused. "Hi y/n, I'm sorry to have to inform you over the phone but your parents got into a car accident and they didn't ma-" you didn't listen to the rest. The whole world became a blur. You just stared at the wall for 10 seconds before the man spoke again. "Y/n?" He said. "Yes I'm here I'm sorry I just- I just was..." you tried to spit out a few words but nothing came out clearly. Your words got jumbled. "Y/n I'm so sorry about your parents, I will be sending a relative of yours to your house soon. Take care, bye now." The man said before hanging up.

You were speechless. You put your phone down and looked out at the sky.

"Dad, mom, can you hear me?" You choked as you spoke.

The worst part about it was that the last thing you told you father was, "Go away". You didn't even cry, you just felt numb. Like a part of you had just disappeared.

// flash back over \\

You stumbled over to your closet and picked out a comfortable pair of tracksuit bottoms and a plain white tank top. You threw them on, grabbed your phone and walked out the door of your dorm.

There was a beach not to far from campus. You loved that beach. It felt like home to you.

When you got there, you took your shoes off and walked on the golden sand. You looked up at the sky, it was clear with no sight of a cloud anywhere to be seen.

You sat down on the sand and admired the waves in the sea. It all felt so peaceful, so relaxing. The beach to you was a place where you could escape all your problems. You were so stuck in your thoughts that you didn't hear a voice calling your name.
