'Mr. S...Stark.." He's in a nice suit but thanks to Humphrey the bottom of his pants have strings of slobber. Stark removes his glasses and walks inside.

"Don't mind me, I'm just dropping off an animal not approved for the building...however...Capsicle insisted on bending the rules for you...now why is an agent of SHIELD under Medical watch with a service animal approved to be a mentor to one Winter Soldier?"

Wow, this guy doesn't hold back...he's furious. But why at me?

I roll my eyes. "My medical records have nothing to do with my inability to perform my duties as an agent."
"Say that to Mr. Jefferson...who was shot and almost killed because you had an episode while undercover. He's lucky his family gets to kiss him every night before bed. Now...again...why did Rogers pick you to be a mentor to a killer?"

He did his homework and dug into my file same as Rogers.  I shake my head to him."He's not a killer."

"You have looked at his file... The last fifty years all he's done was kill innocent people. People who begged for their lives. What makes you so sure..."

" Because right now he's not The Winter Soldier...He's James Barnes, respected Sergent of the 107th, that's who he is. The man who was brainwashed to do horrendous things was kidnapped, tortured, tricked and manipulated. You, Mr.Stark, should remember what happened to you before you became Iron Man. Imagine if those terrorist brainwashed you into killing people with your own weapons then suddenly wake up still believing you are a good person when everyone around you tells you you're nothing but a murderer. Do you think you deserve to be treated like dirt and disrespected?"

Humphrey walks slowly to me and gives me a single lick on my palm. First signal. Sugar is dropping.

Stark bites his bottom lip, probably something he does to try to get a good comeback from arguing. He turns and walks towards the elevator door "any wee wee accidents done by that dog will be fined in your paycheck." He warns just as the doors close.

I shake my head. What a scumbag. What do people see in him? Hypocritical bigot!

I kneel down to my dog and press my face into his scrunchy face. " Humphrey, we are staying here for a little while. Are you alright with that?" I ask, receiving a lick to my cheek.

It's been hours since I've seen him and he gives me two lick on the inside of my palm, warning signal that my sugar is still dropping. I walk the fridge where I find orange juice. I pour a small glass and drink it quickly. I sit at the breakfast bar and wait for Humphreys safe signal which he does, he jumps and presses his pawn to my legs and softly nips my fingers.

"Thank you boy.Good Job! Now lets make some real food."

I decide to not make a big deal on cooking a big meal. Just something light. A BLT with home made chips and pickles. I toss Humphrey a chip which he engulfs in his large mouth.

Out of all the rooms, James room is the only one I find that's locked. I give a gentle knock and wait for a response, which there is none.
" I made you something to eat." Again, no response.

I wonder..."JARVIS, unlock James door."
"Sorry, there is no one on this floor with that name." The A.I responds. I roll my eyes and urge the A.I.
"Jarvis, open this door."
I hear the door unlock and before I could push open the door, the wood swings open startling me, making me drop the plate. The glass dish shatters on the floor making Humphrey bark in warning.

"God!" I yell keeping my shaking hands in front of me.
"No, Just me... you know it's locked for a reason." He warns me. I look at his mouth and it has dried blood and slight swelling from when I punched him.
"Well...I didn't want you to starve." I admit I was a little nervous around him...okay a lot nervous.
He looks at the glass on the ground. " I guess you need to get back in the kitchen and try again."

He returns into the room, slamming the door in my face.
I groan loud enough for him to hear my frustration.

On the ground remains the shattered glass, which I kneel to collect so my dog doesn't accidentally step on it. One of the small shards slices my finger making me hiss at the motion.
"Damn it."

My finger continues to bleed as I move to the kitchen where my purse is. I place my bloody finger under the faucet and run the water. I carefully wash it thoroughly with soap. The cut isn't deep enough to need stitches but its enough that it will take a while to stop bleeding.

I take a small piece of gauze and wrap my finger with white medical tape. There, good as new.

I return to James door with a broom and a pail to finish cleaning the area.

Thats all the effort I will try for today with James Buchanan Barnes, but tomorrow he's in for a reality check.

I eat my sandwich, then collect the items brought from my apartment into my bedroom. Pictures of my sisters, my nanny and my best friend in small frames to place on my dresser.

I organize my clothes how I would in my closet when I realize my clothes wouldn't even fill a third of the walk in closet. Either I'm a woman of simple needs or I desperately need to go shop for clothes.

I bet James would need some new clothes too. I'll put that on my list for thing I need JARVIS to order.

I gather my things into the bathroom and awe at the jet tub. It made my small bear claw tub at my apartment look like I was soaking in a kiddy tub. This was massive.

I take my bath bomb, my iPod and a terry cloth rob into the room and lock the door.
I step in and the jets are making every sore muscle feel amazing. I'm definitely upgrading my bathroom after this.

My iPod shuffle's to Ain't too proud by the temptations. An oldie but a goodie. I hum to the rhythm and bob my head. I turn off the jets and close my eyes , letting my face sink under the water.

My mind feels safest when I take a bath. It's just me, I'm in control of holding my breath, counting to ten, releasing any negativity out of my body.

When I hear Humphrey bark loud, even from under the water, it makes me jump out the bath. I quickly tie my robe around my waist and unlock the door to find Humphrey in his attack stance right at James.

"What are you doing?" I warn Barnes.

"I just came to check on you." He said. "I even knocked."

The tone in James voice angered Humphrey enough to show his teeth and growl in warning that if he moved he would bite.

"Humphrey, Here." I command, snapping my dog away from attack mode to gentle service dog. He walk to my side and sits and waits for my next request.

"He listens to you." James says and points to the animal.

"He's been trained well."I snark back at him.

James scuffs and shakes his head. "Is that your plan for me? Make me your dog to train?"

I shake my head. "No, it isn't."

He leans against the doorway and crosses his arms. The silver glistens and reflects the light from the lamp next to him. "Then what is your plan, y/l/n?"

"I...want to help you...find yourself. It's been so long since you had control over your own mind...and you should be open to this new world around you."

James shakes his head and it looks like he doesn't believe me. "And what if I can't find myself? What If I'm forever The Winter Soldier?"

I shake my head no. " That's not who you are."

He scuffs and moves out of my room. "You don't know me Doll, and I won't let you." He leaves and walks toward his wing of the building.

He puts up a good fight.
