Tru Colton
"I'm thinking that we go dress shopping tomorrow?" London said, more of a question than a comment. "I don't know...I-we haven't decided on a date yet." It's true. Ashton and I haven't spoken about a date yet considering I refuse to talk to him right now. Last night I almost stopped being pissed at him, I almost forgave him for it all and forgot about it.
"Well, it's to be within the next month no?" London asked, picking up her champagne flute and taking a sip. "Yeah." I sighed. "So we're on November 12th now. Why don't you plan to have the wedding for the 30th of the month or the first of next month?" I gulped. That was soon, soon. Don't get me wrong. Of course I still want to get married to Ashton...but right now, I was still pissed and I wanted to continue to be.
The dinner haven't long started. Ashton, Able and Maverick sat at the top of the table, drinking scotch and discussing what sounded like business. Carmen sat beside London cradling Starr. "Oh yeah! Let's go tomorrow. I can leave Starr with Able, he hasn't been doing enough baby sitting lately." I chuckled lightly. I watched as Starr stretched out in Carmens hold. Her tiny fingers spread round Carmens index finger.
"So it's settled? We go dress shopping tomorrow?" I shrugged. It wasn't exactly what I wanted to be doing...if I'm totally honest I would rather spend the day with Ashton. However, that is a bit contradictory of myself considering my 'hated' for him right now. "Let me speak to Ashton. I want to talk about dates with him first." They both nodded in agreement. I looked down the table to Ashton only to see his eyes where trained on me. "Still mad?" I snorted. "Yup." I sighed looking back down to my french martini in hand.
"Tru, you know he didn't do it to piss you off. He wanted to protect you." London added. I looked up abruptly. "Did you guys know? All this time?" She shook her head vigorously, her eye filling with panic. "God no! I would have kicked his ass - son or not - if I knew!" I knew that was true. I relaxed back down and rolled my shoulders back. I needed to talk to Ashton not only about the wedding but also about us. The less I spoke to him. The angrier I got.
"Ok...I guess if I talk to Ashton tonight then..." I was interrupted by Ashton. "What do you need to talk to me about?" I gave him a small smile and shrugged. "Nothing. We can talk later." He gave me a weary look then turned back to his father and Able. "The pettiness radiates off you two!" Carmen mumbled. I rolled my eye as I pushed my chair out and slipped into the kitchen. "Hello Miss...Tru." Rita. Ashtons house maid greeted me.
"Hey Rita." I was thankful that she remembered that I didn't like to called Miss Colton. It was Tru. "Are you enjoying the meal?" I nodded, smiling softly. "I am thank you. Wouldn't you like to join us?" She held up her hand shaking her head refusly. "Oh no sweetie. I'm just about finished the rest of the house. Once you lot are done eating I'll need to get started on the tables and the kitchen." I gave her a sympathetic smile. "You don't need to do that. I'm more than happy to clean up afterwards." She waved a hand and shrugged. "It's what I'm here for honey."
