Tru Colton

"HURRY UP!" My mother yelled at me as we pulled up at the hospital. "Mom, if I go any faster WE'LL DIE!" she swatted my arm at my exaggeration and unclipped her seatbelt. I abandoned my car outside the front doors of the hospital. My mother jumped out clearly more worried than I was.

I grabbed my purse and my phone before locking the car and walking in after her 'running'. "Please!" She yelled at a nurse. "M-my h-h-hus..." Yeah good try mom. I butted in the conversation trying to help her out. "We're looking for Andre Colton?"

The nurse looked over her notes and then pointed to her right. "Room 12c." I thanked her and watched as my mom once again 'ran' along to the room.

First off, I don't run. Second of all, I'm in 6inch Valentino heels, I definitely don't run.

Once I got to the room, I seen my father laying on the bed clutching as his wounded shoulder. "Oh honey! Are you alright?" I snorted at my mom. "Yes mom, he's great he just could deal with your shit anymore." She glared at me then rubbed my fathers cheek.

The next moment, Audrey – my sister and her fiancé – Liam, came running into the room. "DADDY!" Audrey cried wrapping her self around him. Jesus, she annoys the living hell out of me already.

"And on that note, I'm going to go get a coffee." No one gave me any notice except my father. "Could you get your mother and I one too?" I nodded picking up my purse. "Oh maybe grab Liam and I..." Before Audrey could finish I slammed the door closed.

The only drink I will ever get her and her little boy toy will be one with poison.

I walked along to the café in the hospital and ordered three coffee's. After I paid I waited off to the side, when my phone rang, with a call from Taylor my best friend who I was out with drinking tonight but magically lost her.

"T! Where are you!?"

"I'm at the hospital."

I whispered into the phone, as I picked up the three coffee's balancing my mom's on top of my dad's and carrying mine in my free hand whilst holding my phone to my ear between my shoulder and clutching my purse under my arm.

"What the hell!? Why?"

"My dad got shot but we don't know who by, or why, or really anything yet. Still waiting on those details to come from him."

"Damn, just when you think life can't get any more interesting, right?"

"I know. Come over and we can drink more once I'm out of here!"

"You want to drink when your father has just been shot?"

"It's called therapy."

"It's called AA."

I stopped outside the door to my fathers room, it was now closed making my life that much more difficult. I spun round and stood on my tippy toes and pressed the handle down with my butt. I smiled in satisfaction and kicked the door open gently.

"Whatever I..."

I stopped speaking when my eyes fell on the scene in front of me. My father was sat chalk white, Audrey – still crying was holding on to Liam, and my mother had tears threatening her eyes.

"Don't be shy Tru. Join us." Ashton sat facing the scene with his right ankle resting on his left knee, and his arms folded. "I'll call you back Tae." I hung up the phone and placed it down along with the drinks and my purse.
