Sleepover Pt. 1

Amity bit her lip, her eyes studying Luz. 

They were in their spells class.

Ammie watched as Luz was having a quiet conversation with Willow, laughing at the plant pun Willow had just spouted. 

God, she's so beautiful when she laughs.

"Amity Blight. Are you paying attention?" The teacher, Mr. Eail said sternly

Amity quickly looked up, nodding vigorously. "Yes sir, I'm sorry."

She subtly glanced back at Luz again, who was smiling at her before returning to her conversation.

School was out. It was the weekend. Luz caught up with Amity, and grabbed her hand to lead her over to where Gus and Willow were standing. Amity turned a bright red and quickly snatched her hand away.

"Oh! Amity, I am SO sorry..."

"It's fine, don't worry about it..."

There was an awkward silence as they walked to where the other 2 friends were standing.

Luz quickly switched from awkward to excited. "GUYS! Eda says I can have friends over for a sleepover tonight. What do you say?"

Gus squealed. "YES YES YES!"

Willow nodded with a bright smile.

They all looked at Amity, who didn't know what to say. "U-um... I probably shouldn't..."

Luz frowned. "Why not?"

"Well uhhhmmmm, I... I snore...?"

Nice going Blight, Luz probably thinks you're disgusting now, and it's not even true. 

Luz snorted. "Oh don't even worry. I always have to put up with a snoring Eda every night, so I'm very used to it."

"Wellllll... Okay."

Luz jumped up and down and wrapped her arms around Amity while squealing.

Amity felt her face heat up. "L-L-Luz... l-let go of m-me..."

Amity arrived home. She was exhausted. She unpacked everything and opened her closet door to find everything she needed for the sleepover.

After packing a fresh outfit for the next day, she changed into her pajamas and gathered her bag.

She went up to her mother. "I'm going to a sleepover."

Her mother raised an eyebrow. "Whose? Boscha's?"

"No, Luz's."

Her mother frowned and stamped her foot. "I will NOT allow any child of mine to go to a human's sleepover. That is NOT how I raised you to be, understood?"

"BUT-"

"No buts, Amity. Don't be an idiot. Humans are NASTY little creatures. They support disgusting things, like same sex marriage."

Amity's felt her skin grow hot from seething anger.

"Well FINE!" Amity screamed at her mother, "I guess you don't want your daughter to be independent and make her own choices in life!"

Her mother looked at Amity with a deadly look on her face. 

"Yell at me one more time, Amity Elizabeth Blight. I dare you."
