Des's POV
Does first day of schools ever get easier. For someone who moved schools extremely often you would think first days of school gets easier since I am used to it. But, from my experience, they only get worse. New faces, new environment, these things still haunts me. I came out of my head when I heard my Ma's footsteps. I rushed out of my bed and ran towards my bathroom since my mom already tried to wake me up three times and I know for sure if she still finds me in my bed, me and my bed will get a free shower, an extremely cold shower. I quickly brushed my teeth and showered. I am not someone that get's crazy over first day of outfits since most of my first days are in the middle of the semesters and by that time people were already done with life. I just put on a black t-shirt and jeans and called it a day. Basic tees and jeans never goes wrong. I packed my bag and went to the kitchen. My parents were already dressed for work.
"Good morning sweetie" My mom said in a sweet voice and she look so much better when compared to last night. Speaking of last night, it was so weird. Both of them acted so frustrated and secretive. I thought about it all night and the only conclusion I could came with was that they were probably shocked that I found out the plot twist this quickly. Ma's blueberry pancakes' smell woke me up from my day dreaming. Nothing can get me in a good mood better than good food.
She placed them in a plate and gave it to me. I ate them as fast as I can and wished both my parents good morning and rushed towards the door. Being late on your first day of school is a different kind of nightmare I don't want to experience. I reached the school nearly an hour before class started and I couldn't be more proud of myself. Now I need to face the biggest challenge finding my classroom. Thankfully, my school emailed me my schedule with specific instructions on where each of my glasses are in and all of my classes are in building H including P.E. That's different compared to all of my other schools, all of them shared a single ground.
While I was on my way to my class, I could see the sunrise, it was absolutely mesmerizing. Actually, I was so absorbed into it, I didn't see the person next to me and banged into them and fell on my butt. Ouch! that hurts. I quickly got up hoping no one saw me fall and came face to face with someone who looked similar to the protagonist in the movie mean girls. She looked at me with disgust and said in a harsh tone " AH! Another clumsy human." And walked way.
'As if you aren't a human, being clumsy is an art, you mean looking chihuaha.' Pika (My subconscious) said in my head. And yes I do have a name for my subconscious it thinks completely different than me so she deserves a name and also most of the times think like a crazy savage toddler. My mind is a savage most of the times but sadly my mouth is not one. So I just glared at her.
Wow that was quite a first impression. Damn! I thought I was going to make some friends this year.
Alex's POV
Wow! Did this new girl just glare at the soon to be princess. Now this is the kind of stuff I signed up for when I joined this school. Normal humans wouldn't even stare at her because of her power. Its not that they are afraid or something it's because they are unable to. The new girl looks like a human and I can't sense any power in her. But she kind of has the feel of a supernatural. I am going to find out and see.
Des's POV
I stopped glaring at her when I saw the cute guy behind her. He had greenish eyes and platinum blonde hair. He looked really cute. He came next to me and smiled at me and said "Hi, I am Alex. I am guessing you are the new student." I replied with an embarrassed laugh "Is it that obvious?". His smile widened as he said " Yes and no. There was an announcement yesterday that a new hum-- student was joining our school and you also have this 'please someone save me look on your face'. I just smiled at him. Suddenly, his smile vanished and he looked like he was concentrating on something or thinking . After a minute, he looked at me and asked me if I wanted to listen to a song he made and I just said yes cuz he looked tensed. He grabbed his headphone and played the song so loudly that I almost thought I was going to go deaf. But the only thing I could think about was how his expression suddenly changed.
Alex's POV
Woooo. That was nerve-wrecking. The principal out of nowhere just mindlinked us that there was going to be an announcement and asked whoever that was next to the new girl to bring her to a place where she can't hear the announcement and that dude barely gave me 20 seconds before he started the announcement.
<Principal over the speaker> " Good Morning students. This announcement is to remind all students in building H that the new student is unaware of the supernatural realm despite having non-human parents. Her parents are respected people so I request all of you to not mention about it and all other non-humans I remind you to act like a human in front of her."
Well that was interesting a human with supernatural beings as parents and unaware of the realm. Who is she really?
Des's POV
After a few minutes of loud deafening music, Alex finally let me take off the headphones and explained to me how he wanted my opinion on his new music and he wanted it from someone he didn't knew hence the headphone situation. I just smiled at him.
Pika "Guy is handsome but craaazy weird."
