The next day, I woke up to see no one in the dormitory so I went down to the common room and it was oddly quiet. Worried about my children, I look around. Then, a voice startled me, "Don't worry, Lily, Marlene, James, Sirius, Peter, and Severus are babysitting them."
I whipped my head to see my dad. "Oh!" I exclaimed.
He started walking to an armchair in front of the fire and sat there, me following suit. There was awkward silence between us.
"How's life?" My dad suddenly asks.
"Good. I live in Godrics Hollow with the kids and my husband," I stated blankly.
"So...." he trailed off. "3 huh?"
"What?" I asked, looking at him.
"3 children? I wonder how I'd react to that.....I think I would've faint," he said. I didn't answer, just staring into the fire.
"Your mum is Nymphadora right?" he asked.
"Yeah, mum doesn't like being called that. She prefers Tonks," I said.
He nods, "What is she like?"
"Well, she is a metamorphmagus and so am Lily and I"
He nods again.
"She's actually a lot younger than you.....but it didn't matter because you both loved each other" I smiled sadly.
"Oh!" Dad said, clearly amused.
"Yeah....and you also have a son, Teddy!" I said. "He's on his second year at Hogwarts, his real name is Edward Remus Lupin but he liked being called Teddy better."
"Is he.....?"
"No, he's not a werewolf"
"Are you....?"
"No, I'm also not"
He sighs in relief.
"Your husband is James's and Lily's son, right?"
"Yeah"
"How is he?" Dad asked.
"Well, he is amazing.....he works as an auror! While I work as a healer in St. Mungos," I answered.
"Hmm, where do I live or what do I do for living?"
"Erm...." I trailed off.
There was a long pause until dad blurted out, "I'm dead, am I?"
I look at him in shock before slowly nodding.
"I'm sorry if....I wasn't there for you"
Tears were threatening to spill but I held it. I really wonder what it would feel like if my dad and mom were there. How proud they would've been.
Then, dad suddenly hugs me and I didn't waste any time on hugging back and starts sobbing.
"I'm sorry I couldn't be there for you," he repeated.
I didn't answer but continue crying as he held me. We just stay in that position for a while.
