Franziska woke up on the couch in a strange apartment. She panicked, but remembered where she was and why.
This was Casey's apartment. Yesterday, she had broke down after discovering an apparent suicide note from Edgeworth.
She curled up, not wanting to think about it, but it was the only thing she could think about.
Casey came out of her room, yawning. She saw Franziska still on her couch, and immediately remembered everything. She sat down next to her. "...I'm sorry." she said, trying to be comforting.
"Don't be." Franziska mumbled. She straightened up. "I'm fine." She tried her best to smile reassuringly at Casey, who remained unconvinced. Thinking of Edgeworth reminded her of something. "Ah! T-there's a trial today, isn't there?" She stood up, quite flustered.
"Yeah, but-" Casey attempted. Von Karma turned around.
"Thanks for the concern, but I'm fine. And thank you for letting me stay over." She said. "I have to get ready for the trial." She exited the apartment.
Casey stared after her. She had really recovered from that that quickly?
