"George? Are you home?" Dream called out to the empty apartment, looking for the pale figure. A new item lay on his neck. A padlock necklace. Inside was a small picture of George and Dream. It was the gift Dream found from under the bed. Although, when he was looking he found three gifts. All labelled 'Christmas', 'Birthday' and 'For Dream'. So dream opened one and wrapped the rest of them, labelling as he guessed who they were for.
George stepped out from the bathroom, wrapped up in a dressing gown. His pale skin glittering in the morning sun. It looked almost like he had taken a shower... almost.
Dream had only stepped out to get some groceries but as his eyes landed on the small figure in the doorway. His heart soared, pounding in his ears. He stepped over cards of condolences and invitations to funerals and memorials, crushing warning letters as he walked towards the boy. Dream released the bags he had in his hands, letting them collapse on the floor by his feet. His arms reached out, wrapping around the cold figure.
What food have you got Dreamie?
George asked, nuzzling into Dream. If Dream thought hard enough, he could feel the weight and pressure of the Brit's body against him. His tears choked in his chest, holding back his happiness. He didn't care what the world thought happened to George, he had his George right here. The university was overly kind. They allowed Dream's request to restart studying in the new year, even allowed him to stay in halls if he could pay. So Dream worked as many jobs as he could, hoarding as many of George's belongings as he could until movers took the rest of his belongings back to England.
George stayed by Dream's side, working similar jobs with Dream. He continued on his project however, refusing to leave the game unfinished. It was always open on his laptop on his desk. Dream never shut it off so George could work. It was just a shame Dream was never allowed to see all the progress George made.
Bad and Skeppy mourned on their own, checking up on Dream occasionally but not having the strength to listen to Dream's hysterical talk of George. They knew Dream wasn't okay. Anyone could see it. He was always disheveled and tired whenever he walked, eyes sunken back into his skull with a distant look constant in the dark green murky pools. His blonde hair went unwashed and dull. No one ever saw the goofy smile on his face, or heard the tea kettle laugh George could always bring out of him. The light behind Dream's eyes had gone. The only emotions people would ever see on his face was anger. It was reserved for three people.

Dream continued to be isolated up until Christmas. Bad invited Dream to a Christmas party. Dream agreed but on the condition he could spend Christmas Day with George.
Christmas Eve came quickly after that day, Dream woke to the sun in his eyes. His arms pulled at the pillow dressed in George's pjs. He nuzzled his face into George's neck, allowing the cold shiver of his skin dance on his lips. George giggled his iconic giggle, opening one eye to look at Dream.
Good morning baby, I could get used to you waking me up with these kisses
George joked, allowing Dream to pull him in close. Dream pushed his legs forward, waiting to feel the familiar push back of George's legs but they just slid off the bed. Dream opened his eyes again, looking to see only the pillow in his arms and George standing by the door. He looked down onto all of the mail, reading without picking it up."What have we got Gogy?" Dream asked, reaching over and grabbing his phone.
Christmas letters from your family, Christmas letters from the school, another picture of me, another condolences card and oh...
George's voice trailed as he reached to grab a small twig with berries attached. Dream's credit card would tell you, dream has most definitely not bought anything other than takeout from George's favourite restaurants but the foliage in George's hands and the glittering decorations dotted around the room could fool Dream.
