kind of a filler chap for now...
When your eyes flutter open the next morning, you adjust to the sudden brightness in the room, spotting the "are you still watching?" screen on the tv before glancing around the room, finally registering the fact that your head is resting on something - or someone, and there is a pair of arms wrapped tightly around your torso. When the initial morning confusion wears off, memories of last night come flooding back into your brain and you start to panic. You and Spencer must have both fallen asleep during the movie and somehow ended up tangled up in each other in the middle of the night, Luna curled up at the bottom near your intertwined legs.
You pull away abruptly, noticing Spencer blindly reach out for you in his sleep as you try to put as much distance between you and him as possible. Things with you and Spencer had been going fairly okay, and now you're ridiculing yourself for being stupid enough to be vulnerable with him. Your arrangement wasn't about cuddling after sex or some deep pillow talk conversations, it was the exact opposite actually. After you both have sex, it's an unspoken agreement that you leave right after and don't talk after, and so far, it's been working well. It makes it easy for you not to catch feelings for him again, because you would never put as much trust in Spencer as you would have in the past, not when he only repeatedly lets you down, breaking your trust time and time again.
You curl into a ball and rest your forehead on your knees, pinching your eyes shut and hoping this is all just some bad dream. If you weren't in your own apartment, you would have dashed out the door before he could wake up to avoid the inevitable awkward situation that will no doubt occur.
You snap your head up when he groans quietly, lifting his hands up to rub his eyes, glancing around the room in confusion before shooting up, now sitting upright on your couch, making brief eye contact with you, eyes going wide in either fear or shock. Your expression remains unreadable, looking at him with hollow eyes, blinking slowly.
"Sorry," he murmurs sheepishly, attempting to smooth down his wild hair with his hands, "I don't even remember falling asleep."
You nod your head, keeping your body curled up, almost like a way to protect yourself from opening up and being vulnerable with him. Clearing your throat, you reply, "You should probably go now. I have a busy day today."
He notices the new walls you've put up around yourself now, the smile on his face faltering slightly, squinting to examine your face only to come up blank. He nods his head solemnly, "Yeah, of course. I'll just get out of your hair."
You don't get up off the couch as he stands up, grabbing his clothing items that had gotten scattered around the living room after your escapades last night. He does up whatever buttons he can, leaving the torn ones open at the bottom and attempting to look somewhat put together for his walk of shame he's about to endure. You jump when you hear a knock on the door, glancing at Spencer in a panic, jumping off the sofa frantically.
"Get in the closet," you whisper, opening the door to your hall closet and motioning Spencer inside as the knocking grows more persistent. "What?" He replies back, glancing between you and the closet, holding his shoes and the rest of his clothes in his hands. "Get in" you plead quietly, glancing back at the door again.
He sighs, walking into the closet and squeezing himself inside as you shut the door, walking to the front door and opening it, seeing a concerned JJ on the other side, pushing her way into your apartment. She glances around, her eyes landing on you, narrowing her eyes slightly.
"What the hell are you doing here so early, JJ?"
"Everyone was worried about you," she replies, glancing around your apartment, "You left Penelope's last night without saying goodbye to anyone, and you haven't answered any one of our calls. I thought I'd come and see if you got home okay."
