Abuja, Nigeria.

"Ango ango, ka sha kamshi, ina amaryar tamu take? Where is our bride?" Raees, Jalal's best friend, teased.

"You will leave this house, Raees." Jalal frowned, making his two friends laugh.

"How's married life so far?" Kamal asked with a hint of teasing.

"Why don't you all get married and find the answers to your questions?" Jalal responded, slightly annoyed.

"Easy, man." They burst into laughter.

"And hello... I'm getting married next week, in case you've forgotten," Kamal said.

"When are you moving into your house?" Raees asked, pouring wine into a tumbler.

"After she's done with her school."

"Wait, don't tell me she still isn't done with high school?" Raees laughed, earning a glare from Jalal.

"No offense, man, but how old is she?"

"Almost Seventeen."

"What?!" They both shrieked and burst into laughter. Jalal shook his head and took a sip of the wine. It didn't taste bad.

"Man, you're not married; you're babysitting!" Raees joked, still chuckling.

"I thought you preferred mature ladies," Kamal added.

"Don't blame me; it was arranged."

"To be honest, you're too old for her, and she's too young for you."

"I'm glad he got married anyway... just maybe he'll forget about the incident, once and for all," Raees said just as a knock came at the door.

They fell silent and waited as Jalilah entered, carrying a tray with various dishes.

She placed the tray on the coffee table, glanced at the three men, and greeted them.

"How's your studies?" Kamal asked.

"Fine, Alhamdulilah."

"Masha Allah. May success be with you," he prayed.

"Amin. Thank you." She smiled warmly.

Jalilah looked back at Jalal, who was glaring at her, clearly because she hadn't worn her hijab. But how could she have known he had guests?

"Ya Jalal... here's your lunch," she said softly.

"Thanks," he replied. She nodded and left.

As soon as she was out of earshot, Raees voiced the question on his mind. "Is she the one?" he asked, and Jalal nodded curtly.

"Damn! Man, you're lucky! She doesn't look seventeen at all! Masha Allah," Kamal remarked.

"How dare you stare at her like that? Don't you ever." Jalal frowned, glaring at them, eliciting laughter.

"Now you're jealous. I like that," Raees laughed, finishing his wine in one gulp.
