"Wrong"

"Wrong"

"Wrong"

I throw my head back and groan. My first year in college can't possible end this way! It's my fault. I've been spending too much time swinging around. I should of taken more time to study instead of waiting till last minute.

I hear Ned snort at my exasperated attitude. I fling myself forward and sigh. The people around us glared as we had interrupted there peaceful time in the school library.

"I mean...you got a 31/50 on the practice test!"

I pause for a second doing the math.

"That's a 62%"

"Still passing!" He shouts it loudly earning more glares from the people around us, but he ignores them and shoots finger guns at me.

I can't help, but grin at his antics. I mean he was doing it for me. I toss a crumbled up piece of paper at his head making him stop. He frowns as if deep in thought then jumps up.

"I think we should take a break"

"You have been suggesting that for the passed hour"

"Exactly, it's been an hour too long." He says this with a grin, but then suddenly his face becomes very serious. "Beside Peter, you're not going to get much done by just stressing yourself out. You need rest. Let's take a minute"

I knew that he was just trying to look out for me, but I couldn't help the slight irritation I felt. The only reason I was able to come to this school was cause of a scholarship. If I fail or have to low of grade...that might threaten my only chance at attending this college.

"I can't"

"Peter"

It goes silent for a minute till Ned's phone goes off. He glances down to see that his mother was calling. He gives my a sorry look and I nod. Quickly, he picks up the phone and starts talking to his mom walking away as people shhhh at him. He pause for a second then shhhh-es them right back.

I laugh as I watch him give me a thumbs up and walk of the building. Taking a deep breath, I turn my focus back onto the flash cards in front of me. It was just a bunch of words jumbled up. Maybe I did need a break.

I could feel the hairs on the back of my neck stand straight up and I suck a deep breath through my teeth. I quickly flip around and see MJ standing there was a stick that had a feather on the end of it.

She stood a couple feet away and was holding the stick out towards me. She retracts her the stick and raises her hands up in surrender. She took the stick into her back pocket and leans back tucking her hands in her front pocket.

"Sup loser"

"What are you doing?"

"I was testing something"

I wait for her to explain, but she just shrugged and walked to the seat farthest from me at the table. She plops herself down lazily. I try to ignore her, but her presence left me feeling uneasy.
