"PETER!"

I roll out of bed and stumble to my door. I guess I forgot to unlock it last night when I was changing. I fling the door open to see Ned staring at me in a panic.

"Yea?"

"It's 8:49"

It quiet for a second. My mind struggling to catch up to his words then it hit me. Today's the day!

"Oh shit!"

I slam the door shut and quickly begin to change. I throw my PJ off and yank out the first pair of pants from my drawers. Then I quickly grab a sweater from the closet without a shirt I throw it on. I slip on some sock then a pair of shoes. In a short span, I'm ready to go. I grab my phone then run out of room.

Ned stood by the door holding two hot pockets with the same panicked look. I nod at him and we both run out of the small apartment. On the way, he tosses me my hot pocket and I shove it in my mouth.

"How- how come- we overslept on the one day we can't afford to! Exam day" Ned mumbles out of breath

"itssocrazydudeuhjfoh" I grumble with a mouth full of food

Luckily, we lived two streets away. We rush across the street and manage to slip into the building without a fuss. I glance down at my watch which read 8:59.

I pat Ned's back and wave bye as I run away.

"How'd ya do!" Ned excitement was too much for my work out brain, but I laughed happily since it was over

Even if I might have done terrible...

"Eh" I shrug

He throws his arm over my shoulder and starts to sway.

"Our first college semester done" he waves his other hand around dramatically

I laugh and nod

Then out of the corner of my eye, I catch sight of familiar curly hair walking by. My stomach started to tie into a knot. I knew what I had to do. It's been almost a week in a half since we spoke.

"Hey Ned, I'll meet you back at the apartment"

I knew he saw her too and I could see the ghost of a smile on his face as he nodded.

"Okayyy" He dragged out as flipped around

I take a deep breath then I ran after her.

She was standing quietly looking down at her phone. People passed around since she stood in the middle of the path. She looked engrossed in what she was read and then began to type furiously.

Maybe I shouldn't approach her, but my feet weren't as fast as my eyes. I walked out beside her and cleared my throat. Though her attention remained on her phone.

"Uh...MJ"

"WHAT!" She snapped and looked up at me
