Vows To My Love
January: 2019
Hi. My name is Carlix Rin. I'm 17 years old, I'm a Senior, and I play the flute in my high school band. I'm happy, and I'm so excited for the life I have to come. I have a little chihuahua named Cheddar and he's 12 years old. I was born on May 15th, 2001.
Allow me to take you back to the beginning of my Junior year.
September: 2017
I was in one of those relationships.
Blue Hemingsworth was a cute and nerdy Freshman whom I somehow found attractive. He and I were already dating for a couple of weeks, but I didn't think it was all worth it. He was an okay guy (personality wise), but he had anger issues (that scared me), and strong migraines that gave him poor attendance.
Whenever we actually could hang out, we would sit down, and one of us would lay on the other's lap. We would run our fingers through each other's hair, talk about our day. Sometimes, we would just look at each other and smile until our time was up...or until one of us fell asleep. Other times, Blue and I would go over to the city's Teen Center. There, Blue would take advantage of their console systems and he would game.
Eventually, there was a point in time when he would show up to school maybe once a week, and when he did go to the Teen Center, he would only pay attention to whatever game other people were playing. He grew a small obsession with Rock Band 4, and he rarely payed attention to me. I guess eventually I evolved into something they call an "attention whore".
Over the course of the first week of September, I noticed a slightly depressed boy with semi-long hair, eating a bagel, and leaning up against a pillar. My best friend, Serena Frost yelled,"Carlix, the floor is lava!" I rolled my eyes because I knew this game was popular over a year ago and it's died off. I still wanted to take her seriously, and I'd never played it before.
"Are the planters safe?" I screamed.
"No...9."
"The benches?"
"No...6."
"How about the pillars?"
"Yes...3."
I ran and jumped onto the brick pillar, wrapping my arms and legs around it aggressively. I held on for about two seconds before my limbs felt the pain that would later become four huge bruises.
Coincidentally, that pillar was the one the boy was leaning on. He looked at me, and I saw him smile. It made me happy that I got him to smile. I walked up to him and introduced myself.
He told me his name was Indigo McCoy. He gave me his Facebook information and we texted. Blue and I quickly grew apart and I had to let him go. It just wasn't working and because I ended up developing feelings for Indigo.
Indigo and I hung out before school and after school. Of course, I was having so much fun with Indigo that I completely forgot that Blue and I were together.
The next week progressed slowly. Indigo and I began to come to school early on Mondays. We would hang out behind the gym, listen to System of a Down, and talk. I now had a crush on Indigo, and I wanted to be with him. He told me that I had to break up with Blue, if I wanted to be with him. I was nervous, but I knew he was right.
September 12: 2017
I was hanging out with Indigo at the Teen Center and I was sitting next to him in the corner where you could charge your phones or leave your backpacks. Blue walked in and gave me a death stare as he saw me sitting close to his best friend.
