"Harry, wake up. We are here. " I said and slowly nudge him after slowly opening the door.
"Oh.Sorry" He said after waking up.
"Let's go so you both can rest. " Fortunately, he complied without a single argument
"Let me help you with her. " He offered. But as he was about the get the girl, I refused and told him it was okay. I know that he will argue so I just give him the luggage. At least it was a wheelie bag (that's what it's called in UK. It's actually a luggage with wheels) so he won't have to carry it.
Entering the elevator I pushed the ground floor option.
"We need to get to the reception and register your both names. You will be given an access card that can only access the common floor and my unit floor. The rest should be restricted."
I explained and he nodded.
It was the part of the condominium's policy, to have every tenants or visitors registered. The access card can only access the common areas like gym, swimming pool, viewing deck and the ammenities. Then, it was restricted to other floors. If you stay at the eleventh floor, then you can only go to eleventh floor. The other residential floors are restricted. You need to tap the access card in the elevator. Every visitors must also be registered, the duration of stay or if they will be just spending the night. It was part of the security and everyone must comply.
Prevention was better than cure as the management said.
"This way" I guided him towards the reception. The other side of the building was where the elevator for the residential floors can be accessible. This way, every entry and exit were controlled.
"Good evening Lisa! Working hard as ever? "
"Hey Zayn.. It was such a long time. " She blushed a little when she saw me. Let's just say, we had a past. Good thing we still ended up as a friend.
"What can I do for you? " She asked
"My friends will be staying at my place for a while, I need you to give Harry, his access card. " I replied politely.
"Okay, he just need to fill up these forms" She handed us the forms.
"We will need to take their photos too, but seeing that the child has fall asleep, maybe we can do her's tomorrow. Mr. Harry, if you may just sit tight there and look at the camera"
Lisa pointed towards the already set up mini camera.
"Okay, done. I'll just get your access card. Same access as yours? " I nodded and she left us to get the card.
"What's her name? " I finally remember to ask.
"Gemma"he said.
"Gemma, such a pretty name. Fits perfectly for a pretty girl like your sister. Can I call her Gem? "
"Sure" he reply quickly
"Can I call you Hazz?"
"Sure"he reply quickly but then realized what he did so,
He quickly said, " No"
"Ah-ah.. You already said yes, you can't take it back. " He just sigh in defeat. Maybe he is just too tired to argue.
"Sorry for taking too long. Here" Lisa handed me Harry's access card.
"So you can only access the seventh floor and the common room plus the penthouse. " Harry just nodded in understanding.
"Do you need me to register her at day care? " Lisa asked
"That'll be great! Thanks alot Lisa. " The cheerful girl then proceed to type in her computer as Harry look at me in confusion.
"This condominium provides day care service too. It's fir working parents that doesn't employ nanny or can't find a baby sitter. It'll be open from 7am until 7pm only. All children must be picked up latest by 7pm or the parents will be given a warning and then reported to the child services if it became a habit. "
"All done." Lisa said
"Thank you! What am I going to do without you?" I tease a little which was rewarded by her slight blush
"Shut up Zayn!"she replied and looked away trying to hide her blush.
" I'm done as well."Harry said and handed her the form.
"Thanks. And have a good stay! " We bid goodbyes and thanked her for her services.
As we enter the elevator, I told Harry the things he needed to do.
"You need to tap the access card here."
I pointed at the small box with red light then used my access card.
"When it blink green, the press the desired floor, in our case, seventh floor."
I pressed seventh button.
"Each floor is labelled, the gym pool and mini bar can be found in fifth floor, it's common area. The rest of the floors are restricted. However, since we also own the penthouse only our access card can go to top floor. Easy,right?" I asked. He nodded.
The elevator opened.
"Here we are, unit 707."
"Where's the key hole? " He asked
"There's none. You only need your access card. " I showed him how to use the card.
"Remember that the doors are auto locked. It can only be opened from inside, so if you forget your access card or lost it somewhere, then go to the management for them to open it or contact me. Okay? "
He nodded and gratefully said, "Thank you."
