'What is this?' James demanded.

The usual chaotic cacophony of Platform nine and three quarters blared dominantly over the cheerful and teary farewells being screamed out by the loved ones, as the scarlet engine announced its departure, the steamy platform as blurry as the year to come for the Hogwarts students.

'Hogsmeade permission slip, I think,' Sirius observed.
'Why is it not signed?'
'I don't think my family knows how to use a quill,' Sirius provided.
Remus sighed, 'Sirius. Didn't I tell you to behave through the summer holidays?'
'Well, I did behave,' Sirius put in, 'you didn't specify what kind of behavior,'
Peter rolled his eyes, 'So, you'll not be coming to Hogsmeade with us? I've heard that it's a really nice place for people like us!'
'Don't be an idiot, Peter,' James said, irritated, 'of course, he's going to come,'
'If we did things only that we were permitted to do,' Remus sighed, 'we wouldn't be we, would we?'
'Nice tongue twister,' James complimented.
'That's what she called me,' Sirius deadpanned. Remus groaned.

The Hogwarts express rushed past the lush valleys, anticipation capped well-within. It came to a halt and days and night flashed by, light and dark alternating each second. Winds whistled by, turning colder and colder through the days, until they shrieked with an icey delight, blowing about the snow-capped grounds of Hogwarts. It was time for the first Hogsmeade trip.

'What's the plan?' Peter whispered as Slughorn dragged himself past their table.
'We hex everyone who tries to stop me,' Sirius sniffed his potion and scrunched up his face in disgust. 'This is smelly,'
'I'm used to it,' James declared, 'I share a dormitory with you,'
'Very funny,'
'I know,'
'What,' Remus said, gritting his teeth as he stirred his potion, 'really is the plan, James?'
'Gather up, folks,' James said, his voice annoyingly low.
Sirius bent in to listen, tripped and smashed face-first into his bubbling cauldron.

'I don't think we're capable of implementing any plan, mate,' James said, after a short trip to the hospital wing.
Remus nodded, 'Wouldn't be the Marauders if we don't try though, would we?'

'Watch your fat foot before I cut it, will you?' Sirius snapped, making Peter jump

'Watch your fat foot before I cut it, will you?' Sirius snapped, making Peter jump.
'Quiet,' Peter hushed, looking around the vast darkness, apprehensive of the unknown, 'Just keep moving forward,'
'I already am,' Sirius whispered, 'James better be right. This better lead us to Hogsmeade.'
They waded through the sea of darkness, occasionally bumping into each-other and frequently cursing, until they finally reached the trap door.
'Okay,' Sirius whispered, sweaty, 'I'll go up and you follow me. We'll meet James and Remus near the Three Broomsticks,'
He began to climb up, and reached for the door.
'Why is this thing so heavy,' Sirius spoke through gritted teeth, his face pale. With a creak, the trapdoor burst open, and everything went wrong.
'AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGGGGHGHHHHHHHHH,' A man screamed, making Sirius trip and fall down the stairs.
'AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRGGGGGHHHHHHHHH,' Peter screamed as Sirius fell on top of him.
'Shut up, shut up,' Sirius hissed, looking up. 'Oh. Our plan has failed,'
----&

'... he opened the trap door while the man was standing over it,' Peter laughed, 'he fell so hard!'
Remus rolled his eyes, 'This is the most disastrous failure we've experienced,'
'Milestone achieved,' James laughed.
'I got three weeks' detention in the Hospital Wing, though. Without magic,' Sirius stressed, glaring at his Potions textbook.
'It's alright,' James waved it off, 'we've got a new plan,'
'No, thank you,' Sirius snapped.
'No, you don't understand. Remus liked this one, he approved.'
'Wait, he did?' Sirius said, dubious.
Remus nodded, defeated, 'It's going to be difficult. But, we're the Marauders.'
Sirius looked around, apprehensive, 'And what are you going to do?'
'We,' James stressed, 'are going to build a map, my friend.'
