wyatt naturally settled between two of the guys on the low sofas that were placed parallel to each other in the little room. the scrawny looking guy on his left mutely handed him a blunt and nodded at brighton who stood awkwardly in the doorway.
"close the door, you don't want the smoke to escape."
"you wouldn't know what i want or what not." brighton hissed defensively.
"don't be such smartass," the guy reprimanded him then, pointing his thumb at brighton he asked wyatt, "is he always such a little bitch?"
"he's just shy."
"shy..." the guy scoffed. brighton was so close to bounce right then and leave the door open just out of spite to have them close the door themselves. but then wyatt started introducing him to all three guys in the room and brighton miraculously got curious enough to stay. it was mainly down to the fact that they all had very, strange names.
"ted, this unbelievable meanie is skinny-dave and that's baby freddie over there," at the mentioning of his name baby freddie coughed but didn't pay him much attention. "they're a couple."
"freddie babe for me," skinny-dave confirmed, whistling to catch his boys attention before he handed over the blunt to him which he had just took a hit from.
brighton rubbed his ears from the assault the piercing sound made. "and who is that...?"
wyatt gave a brief glance to the far back of the couch, where another one absent- mindedly stared out the dust-choked window. he was leaning on the armrest, seeming impatient for no reason.
"that's dave too..." he said cautiously, and something about the way his voice lowered sent a chill down brighton's back. "only he prefers to go by me-crazy."
baby freddie's head shot up. he traded a look with skinny-dave who just shook his head. brighton felt like he was witnessing something eerie happening at once, and despite of the heat inside of the room he grew cold.
"so, what is this all?" brighton asked slowly, looking down at the door handle he was white knuckling. "and most importantly, how do we get the heroin out of our system? this seems to be making matters worse not more convenient."
"we don't." wyatt stated with such finality that it felt like he had stabbed brighton in the stomach. brighton hadn't noticed that wyatt had stood up from the couch to shoo him away from the door, making him sit pretty next to freddie. "otherwise i wouldn't have anything to use against you, would i?"
