"By the muggles! Cordelia you look absolutely gorgeous."
"Thank you, Mr Weasley!" The Weasleys except the ones that had already graduated, and Ron, stood in front of Cordelia and her father. The group happened to see each other on their way to boarding the Hogwarts Express and decided to stop for a chat.
"Excited?" Mrs Weasley asked the little girl who'd be boarding the Hogwarts Express for the first time just like her daughter.
"Very!" She shouted, a bit too loud, only to be followed by, "Sorry. I'm a bit too excited."
Ginny giggled, "I get it, every year seeing your brothers board the train makes it torturous to wait."
Cordelia nodded vehemently, "especially when he decides to be very annoying about it by sending a mail specifically to me to make me jealous." And the girls began chatting about their brothers and how annoying they were.
"Dad, I'm back. I've gotten the luggage on. Hello, Mr and Mrs Weasley." A boy, not like a sparkling vampire, ran to the group and placed himself next to his sister.
"Speak of the devil." She said, earning a giggle from Ginny and a smack from her brother.
"Oh goody good, Cedric." Amos turned to the Weasleys, "if you'll excuse us then, we'll board the train then."
The group bid their goodbyes, and was on their way.
Cordelia sat in the compartment with her brother's friends who she'd already been introduced to, from when they'd come to visit him. Cedric on the other hand had run off to learn his prefect duties.
"Cordelia right?" Sure she'd seen them around before but this would be the first time she actually talked to them other than the greeting during meal times from when they came to visit.
"Yup!"
"Have you decided which house you want to get into?"
"Yep, Slytherin!" The revelation garnered a bunch of oohs and cheering by four fifteen year olds. The Slytherin of the group even hooted.
"We'll be waiting for you, Cordy!" He said, giving her a fist bump.
She'd seen him around the most, and he might've also been one of the important reasons she wanted to be a Slytherin, but we don't talk about that.
"No fair Rigel. I wanted to give her a nickname..." Talon complained.
"Better luck next time, 'Claw." Cordy snickered at the pun. It was a double pun, on his name and his Hogwarts house.
"Oh my god! She likes punny humour." Aiden exclaimed. "You should officially replace your, good for no pun brother."
"Oka-" she yawned mid sentence, as she had not slept the whole night in her excitement. The group of fifteen year olds looked at her with awe. She looked so cute in the moment that Felix squeezed her cheeks till they were red and she had puffed them in annoyance. Though this only made her look even cuter to the boys, and they literally squeed. Some even ruffled her short hair.
Their squees were the last thing she heard as she drifted off to sleep, the adrenaline rush from the previous night finally wearing off.
The group woke her up when they were near so she could change into her robes too. Soon after they reached the castle and Cordy was separated from the group and onto Hagrid's little boats.
She'd sat with Ginny, another girl she'd come to know as Gwendolyn or Wendy and a boy, Hyacinth.
"So which house do you want to be in?" Ginny asked, not being a fan of silence.
