The two of you sat and thought about how you were going to get through the Ley Line. Akko never learned how to fly a broom, and your magical capability wasn't exactly the same as a witch.
As time passed, you both were beginning to lose hope, until a girl with orange hair was running up the hill. Suddenly, she trips over herself and her books spill on to the ground. Together, you and Akko helped pick up the books and make sure the girl is okay.
Orange haired girl: Thank you two so much! I need to get going, we can't be late.
She gets on her broom and gets ready to take off, but notices that you and Akko weren't following.
Orange haired girl: Aren't you coming? Luna Nova has a pretty strict policy. If you're late then you're automatically expelled.
Akko: We don't have a broom. And even if we did, we couldn't fly it.
Orange haired girl: Wait, we? But Luna Nova is an all girls school.
Y/n: Headmistress Holbrooke made an exception for me.
After thinking it over for a bit, the girl makes some room on her broom.
Orange haired girl: Well, I guess that for helping me, I can give you two a ride. My name is Lotte.
Akko immediately perked up and happily hopped on.
Akko: My name is Atsuko Kagari! But you can call me Akko.
Y/n: Y/n Belmont.
You get on the back of the broom and grip tightly on it.
Lotte: Alright. Tia Freyre!
The broom begins to rise up from the ground. The Leyline opens up from above and Lotte flies into it. As the three of you were flying through it, a small burst of energy knocks into the broom. You all shake it off until a much stronger burst goes through the line, causing some of your stuff to get blown away.
Lotte: No! Our luggage!
Y/n: What is going on?!
Lotte: I don't know! The Leyline has never been this cranky before! Are any of you carrying salt?!
Akko pulled out a jar of pickled plums from her bag.
Akko: I have pickled plums!
Lotte: Throw them away! The Leyline hates salt!
One more burst goes through the line and with Akko's bag open, a card flies out of it.
Akko: My Shiny Chariot card!
Akko tried to reach out to catch it, but Lotte lost her balance and fell, taking you and Akko with her. As Akko falls, she slams into another girl who had pink hair. You all fall through an opening in the Leyline, causing you to fall into a forest.
The opening must have spat you out in a different part of the forest however, as Akko, Lotte, nor the other girl were anywhere to be found. You decide to push forward, your hand instinctively placed on your whip.
After pushing through another wall of branches, you come to a small pathway. Suddenly, a loud roar gets your attention. Looking up the path, you see a Cockatrice, a massive beast that looked like a rooster fused with a dragon and its breath could turn things to stone. Just ahead of the Cockatrice, was Akko and Lotte in a ball of yarn, going down the hill extremely fast and passes you.
Y/n: That doesn't seem good...
The beast let's out another roar. As you look back, the third girl was holding a feather while trying to avoid the beak of the monster. Taking this as a momentary distraction, you run down the hill, hoping to catch up with the two.
Meanwhile, the ball of yarn was slowly tearing away by the friction and rough ground if the forest. Eventually, the duo hit a rock and they are sent tumbling off the cliff face. Akko manages to grab Lotte's wrist and a nearby branch. Before the two could celebrate, the brach was ripped free from the ground.
Thankfully, you managed to get there in time and grab onto Akko's hand.
Y/n: I got you Akko.
She smiles as you begin to pull them up. Once on ground, Lotte tries to take a step but topples over in pain.
Akko: Lotte! Are you alright?
Lotte: No... it's my knee.
Looking down, you see her knee was in rough shape. A large gash was made during the tumble and was bleeding quite a bit.
Y/n: Hold still, this may sting a bit.
Placing your hand on her knee, you quietly chant a prayer and incantation as a golden light shined from your palm. Though, having little training in Speaker magicks, you were quickly drained, though it did the trick in at least closing the wound.
Y/n: Sorry I couldn't do more. Never been properly trained. But you still can't walk on the knee.
You turn and crouch, and with Akko's help, Lotte was riding on your back as you trekked back up the path.
Akko: Even with everything that has been thrown against us, we still aren't going to give up, right Y/n?
Y/n: Of course. There is still so much for us to accomplish. I have to avenge my family and carry on the Belmont legacy. And you need to become the greatest witch this world has ever seen.
Akko: Because believing in myself, is my own magic! I will become a great witch, just like Shiny Chariot!
Suddenly, a blinding light appears in front of you all, and when it dies down, Akko couldn't believe what was in front of her.
Akko: Is that... the Shiny Rod? Chariot's wand?
As she took it in her hands, the vines receded, allowing Akko to properly hold it. Then, the moment was ruined when the Cockatrice roared again, getting frustrated that it couldn't catch the pink haired witch.
Y/n: Stay here with Lotte.
Akko: Wait, what are you doing?!
Setting Lotte down, you grab your whip and run towards the monster.
Y/n: My job!
Attacking with your whip, you land a solid hit on the side of the Cockatrice's face.
Y/n: Hey you overgrown chicken! Why not pick a fight with me?!
With another crack of the whip, you hit it in the eye, really pissing it off. Running through the thick trees, you try to find something to at least trip the beast up, then you found the perfect trap, a Mandrake. Diving through the vines, the Cockatrice was not expecting the trap and was quickly wrapped up by the man eating plant.
Pink haired girl: Hey, need a ride?
Looking up, you see Akko, Lotte and the other girl on the broom. Taking Akko's hand, she helps you on.
Y/n: Thanks. Name's Y/n. Y/n Belmont.
Sucy: Sucy Manbavaran.
Introductions were cut short as the beast managed to break free and was quickly flying after the four. Now, its stone breath replaced with fire.
Y/n: It can breath fire now?!
Sucy did her best to dodge the flames, but soon her broom caught fire, crumbling away and sending you all plummeting to the ground. Suddenly, Akko begins reciting a spell.
Akko: Noctu Orfei... Aude... Fraetor! Shiny Arc!
An arrow was fired near the ground, which summoned a brand new Leyline. Falling through the line, you were all now safe from the beast. A few moments later, you see that you are in a room, hovering over the ground. You quickly right yourself and land on your feet.
Y/n: Heh. Reflexes like a cat.
With another puff of smoke, the other three fall on top of you. Akko quickly gets up and notices that they were finally in Luna Nova. As she cheered and laughed, Lotte and Sucy helped you up.
The uncomfortable feeling of having the entire room stare at you was replaced with joy as Akko had finally reached the place of her dreams.
