The night sky glistened as the moon illuminated the world. Tall buildings towered over Rosella Sterling as she walked down the dark streets, heading home. She always walked the same way home but tonight, construction and blocked roads caused her to take another route. Rosella cut through alleyways and approached a dead street. Lights flickered as she passed by. Weird, she thought. She checked her phone, thinking she was alone. Messages from her friend made her smile and she texted him back as she walked. Rosella was so focused on her phone, she didn't hear the heavy footsteps creep up behind her. Noticing too late, Rosella felt a cloth go over her mouth, a strong grip holding her from fighting back. Rosella clawed at the person behind her, dropping her phone and was only able to see a fraction of the person before everything faded to black.

**********

Coldness hit her as she awoke. Her vision was a bit blurry as she sat up to see her surroundings. Clanking echoed in her ears and she noticed she was locked in a cell. Bright white lights shined against the metal bars and silver colored floor. Rosella saw a second empty cell neighboring hers. Where was she? Why was she there? She slowly got up as many questions occupied her mind. She looked around through the bars and saw a metal door far away from the cells to the left of her.

Her heart raced in anxiety as she tried to look for a way out but obviously there wasn't any. Rosella felt an itch on her upper arm. Touching it, she felt an injection mark. What did they put in her? Trying to calm herself down, Rosella recalled what happened before she blacked out. She had been on her phone and a hand covered her mouth with a cloth of chloroform. But she clearly remembered seeing a masked man taking her. He had shoulder length hair and wore goggles. Rosella remembered feeling a cold and heavy weight on her and her struggling to get out of his hold. Was that man even around? How would she even know his face? Anyone could have long hair wherever she was.

Sighing in defeat, Rosella slumped against the hard dark blue wall, the lighting was dark and gloomy. As soon as she attempted to relax, she heard the creaky metal door open and footsteps getting closer. She stood up faster than she ever had in her life. The tension of who might've been approaching ate her up inside. Finally two guards in a dark green uniform and wore a red beret. Behind them was a small man in a white lab coat with glasses. The small man ordered the guards in Russian to open the door of the cell. They obeyed and harshly grabbed Rosella, draggin her to the open door at the end of the long hallway.

"Where am I?" Rosella asked. She looked at both very tall, very blonde men who kept their gaze forward. Rosella examined the two men and noticed the symbol on their uniforms on their right breast pocket. A skull with six curling tentacles. Rosella soflty gasped. Hydra. She thought. In shock, she looked down. Why did Hydra want her? She was a nobody, a 27 year old woman who lived alone. But what better person to pick than someone who was alone and no one would miss?

When they arrived at their destination, Rosella was pushed down to the ground. Quickly she got up and looked around. Screens displaying vitals and many machines flickering on and off. The room had a yellow-greenish hue, a surgical table with tools designed for torture sprawled across it. blood splatters still stained the walls. She was in a laboratory. Rosella looked behind her and saw a tall, dark brown haired man with a blank expression standing there. He didn't wear the same uniform as the guards. He wore a navy blue leather jacket with a black gauntlet on his right arm and black leather pants with combat boots. His left arm was entirely made of vibranium. But what stood out to Rosella at that moment, was his shoulder length hair. Was he the one who took her? Rosella stared at him for a second before hearing her name being called. She turned to see the small man speaking as the guards clearing the table next to her.
