Moving to Seoul was a huge change for the four boys. They were so used to their small town in the countryside. Large open fields, farm animals, and everyone knowing their neighbors. Here in Seoul...there was hardly a patch of grass in sight. The city was covered in concrete with tall buildings and skyscrapers for miles. The streets were crowded so driving to their hotel took a while. They got checked in, still not over the initial shock of moving to Seoul. If they recognized people here, it was only because they had seen them on TV.
TV.
None of them could believe they were breathing the city air. Arguably more polluted than their precious country side, but Seoul had its charms. It definitely felt like a city of dreams and success. Here it felt like everyone was working towards something bigger than themselves. Just what did they get themselves into?
Jungkook looked around with his big doe eyes, standing in their new home for as long as they trained to be the next big idol boy group. Taehyung was jumping on the bed, laughing and cheering in the background while Jimin scolded the boy. He was trying to get everyone to start unpacking their belongings already. No one was listening to Jimin though. Seokjin was looking through the fridge, wondering if they would have to buy their own food. They still weren't rich or famous yet. Then Jungkook was looking out the window, peering down at the city view.
"...do you guys think we made a mistake?" Jungkook's voice was soft. A simple question that had the rest of his friends stop whatever they were doing. Taehyung jumped off the bed, stumbling out to check on Jungkook. Seokjin closed the fridge to face the youngest and Jimin walked out to stand by Taehyung.
"Mistake? What do you mean by that?" Seokjin raised a brow. A sigh left Jungkook, looking over his shoulder
"Only one of us dreams to be a singer, Seokjin. What do you think I mean?" Jungkook frowned. "None of us here can really sing or dance."
"Well, that's not true." Taehyung cut in. He shoved his hands in his pockets, looking serious for once. "You can sing, Jungkook. Then Jimin here can really dance when he's not worried about what people think."
"Taehyung." Jimin whined though Taehyung didn't care. He kept his gaze locked with Jungkook's.
"I know you're worried, but we're all going to be trained anyway. Why not enjoy the experience?" Taehyung reasoned.
"Taehyung's right! We're in Seoul for crying out loud!" Seokjin threw his arms in the air. "Come on, Jungkook. I know you didn't originally want to be a singer, but I know you got some sort of itch in you that wants to be on stage in front of crowds!"
"When I imagined being in a stadium with people watching me, it certainly wasn't for singing." Jungkook crossed his arms. He hummed in thought before smiling at the others. "I don't hate the idea."
"Yeah! There we go!" Seokjin clapped his hands. His grin was stretching from ear to ear when he looked over at Jimin's meek form. "And you! I know you're shy, but you got cute looks and you bring something to the table that all of us don't."
"Really? Me?" Jimin's eyes widened, pointing to himself in shock. He's never felt comfortable in school or in public. He's always just tried to mind his own business. It was only with his friends that he could feel comfort. Accepting going to Seoul was already so out of his comfort zone. He would have been happy staying in his small town for the rest of his life. "I don't know about that." Jimin shyly waved off Seokjin's words.
"No, none of that." Taehyung rolled his eyes. He threw his arm around Jimin, putting him in a headlock. "Park Jimin! You're our smart shy cutie!! Girls love that!" Taehyung ruffled Jimin's hair, laughing at the smaller boy squirming.
