Hayley's POV

Scott walked in my room as I was picking my clothes out for first day back tomorrow. "Hey, Sis did you hear the rustling outside?" Scott asked "No, why?" I ask "I heard someone outside." Scott said "Alright let's go check it out. Carry the bat." I say We walked out onto the patio with Scott behind me carrying a baseball bat. I heard movement on the roof and next thing I know I see Stiles hanging from the roof with him and Scott yelling with Scott about to hit him with a baseball bat.

"Stiles, what the hell are you doing!?" Scott asked "Y'all weren't answering your phones. Why do you have a bat?" Stiles asked "Scott thought you were a predator." I say "A pre - I - wha - look, I know it's late, but you gotta hear this. I saw my dad leave 20 minutes ago. Dispatch called. They're bringing in every officer from the Beacon Department, and even State Police." Stiles said

"For what?" I ask "Two joggers found a body in the woods." Stiles said jumping down from the roof. "A dead body?" Scott asked "No, a body of water. Yes, dumbass, a dead body." Stiles said jumping over the railing onto the patio. "You mean like murdered?" I ask "Nobody knows yet. Just that it was a girl, probably in her 20s." Stiles said "Hold on, if they found the body, then what are they looking for?" I ask "That's the best part. They only found half. We're going." Stiles said and we get in his Jeep and drive to the preserve. "We're seriously doing this?" Scott asked "You're the one always bitching that nothing ever happens in this town." I say

"I was trying to get a good night's sleep before practice tomorrow." Scott said as we go walking through the woods. "Right, 'cause sitting on the bench is such a grueling effort." Stiles said "No, because I'm playing this year. In fact, I'm making first line." Scott said "Hey, that's the spirit. Everyone should have a dream, even a pathetically unrealistic one." Stiles said "Just out of curiosity, which half of the body are we looking for?" I ask "Huh! I didn't even think about that." Stiles said "And, uh, what if whoever killed the body is still out here?" I ask "Also something I didn't think about." Stiles said making me face palm at his stupidity.

"It's - comforting to know you've planned this out with your usual attention to detail." I say sarcastically as we climb this small hill. "I know." Stiles said "Maybe the severe asthmatic should be the one holding the flashlight, huh?" Scott said leaning against the tree behind us. Stiles drops down to the ground dragging me with him. I hear Scott shake his inhaler then crawl up the hill and drop down beside of me when he sees the flash lights.

"Wait, come on!" Stiles said standing up and starts running. "Stiles! Wait up! Stiles! Stiles!" Scott and I yell in sync. "Hold it right there!" A cop yells and Scott and I hide behind a tree. "Hang on, hang on. This little delinquent belongs to me." The sheriff said 'Dad, how are you doing?" Stiles asked making me roll my eyes. "So, do you, uh, listen in to all of my phone calls?" The Sheriff asked "No, heh. Not the boring ones." Stiles said "Now, where's your usual partners in crime?" The Sheriff asked "Who, Scott and Hayley? They're home. Said they wanted to get a good night's sleep for first day back at school tomorrow. It's just me. In the woods. Alone." Stiles said "Scott, Hayley y'all out there? Scott? Hayley? Well, young man, I'm gonna walk you back to your car. And you and I are gonna have a conversation about something called invasion of privacy." Sheriff said and they all started walked away.

"Damn it." I say and we start walking towards the road when I hear something running up behind us. I turn around in time to see deer running towards us. "Scott get down!" I yell and I fall to the ground covering my face and head so I don't get kicked on in the head. While we're waiting for the deer to pass I notice that Scott lost his inhaler. While we're running to the road I hear Scott scream so I turn around and see Scott over the top half of the body. I notice that the body kind of looks like Laura Hale. I help Scott up and we continue walking to the road until I hear growling noises behind us. I turn and I see a big black shape with glowing red eyes.
