Gojo protected me as he stood in front, blocking my dad from seeing me. "What did you do to her?" He asked in a menacing tone, staring daggers at his former best friend.
"I set her free from her suffering. In exchange for a normal life, she would have to give up her current life." My dad's—no, Geto's voice was ice cold like he had no heart inside of his body. How could he do this to me without my consent? He really took away my curse life so I can live normally? I wished he told me this beforehand. That's why my roots were turning black because he did this to me. I'm confused if I should be happy or not, yet I'm feeling frustrated and mad.
"Isn't it wonderful that there is a curse tool which can remove your cursed energy, Kana?!" Geto spoke positively about this matter, and it made me really scared for my own safety and life now. I can't protect myself. If Geto really wants to hurt me, he can because he has the power to do so. I'm like an ant and he's the human foot to kill me.
"Curse tool?" I muttered, unconsciously touching the dagger tucked inside my shirt. Gojo did say he felt its energy but not mine. Was it this weapon which gave me this new life? It must've absorbed my energy that's why I'm at zero.
"What's going on?"
"How is it possible that Geto is alive?"
"Is this another showdown from last year?"
All sorcerers and students were visibly confused from Geto's revival. He popped out of the blue to surprise everyone, including me. This wasn't looking too good on my end.
"Come on, Kana... Let's go home." Geto loudly yelled, enjoying the chaos he created while everyone's eyes were on me. Their lazer eyes were burning in my head because I'm affiliated with him. Their awful stares froze me up as I didn't want to move an inch or else I'll die by the hands of my familiars. I couldn't lift my head because I feared them. There was so much weight on my body. It's so hard to breathe.
Then Gojo whispered to me so nobody else could hear, placing a hand on my shoulder. "That's not your dad, that's a different person taking over him. I killed him so I know it's not him. I watched him die, Kana."
"Tick tock, Kana... I don't have much time."
Clenching my fists, I breathed in heavily as I tried my best to calm myself down from this intense situation. I want to reduce any casualties if I can. It's the best answer for this case. I'd rather not see my friends dead if I chose to stay. Even so, I doubt staff or sorcerers want me here either because I'm somehow related to Geto. It's for the best to comply...
However, heavy footsteps ran in my direction and aggressively pulled my arm from leaving my spot. "Kana!" Megumi shouted as his face contorted in confusion and anxiousness for my well-being. He didn't expect this to happen on the day I returned and neither did I. I bet he wanted to hangout with me and feel reassured that I'm alive and in one piece, not to be taken away again and possibly disappear forever.
I know he's worried and he doesn't want to let go of me but I have to... I have to protect them all from Geto. I'm not too sure what he has under his sleeves. There will be no warnings coming from Geto either since it's not actually him inside his own body but another person. I should've trusted my gut when I first met him. I blame myself for believing in his lies. I'm a fool who endangered everyone.
Shaking my head in disappointment, I removed Megumi's hand off my arm but he was being too stubborn to let go. "You're going to get hurt because of me. I can't see you or anyone die. I'm sorry... You need to let go," When I tried loosening his fingers again, he fought even harder. He's hurting but so am I. He doesn't know how much my heart was aching from this revelation. I didn't ask to become Geto's daughter. I didn't ask to be set free like this. Why does Megumi have to make it harder for me? I know he likes me and doesn't want to lose me but I don't either. Nonetheless sacrifices have to be made in order for humanity to survive.
