I am currently riding the bus to school, bobbing and shaking in my seat While enjoying the scenery of the cities I passed through.
I am finally about to start my long-awaited school life. Truth be told, I am excited and was looking forward to this day, April 1st, on which the entrance ceremony is to be held.
The school that is honoured by my presence, the Advanced Nurturing High School. A very renowned school in Japan, it is put on a pedestal and viewed to be leagues above all other schools in terms of technology, the efficiency of the education system and financial abilities.
However its main selling point is that it boasts a 100% employment and college entry rate, and with thorough, state-directed teaching methods, it spares no effort in pursuing the nation's desired future.
Even getting admitted to this school is viewed as a huge achievement by most people. I have a lot of expectations for this school and the students it has admitted.
But even if the school disappoints me in that regard, it won't really affect me.
Since what's inside the school doesn't matter, the school itself was my objective and I have succeeded.
I shifted my gaze from the scenery noticing the bus slowly filling up, mostly with students with the same uniform as mine.
I watched as a teen with his hair dyed blonde, wearing the ANHS uniform walk into the bus and sit on the priority seat after scanning the surroundings and finding no other seat.
Although his domineering posture and the pressure he emitted were out of the ordinary that's not what interested me.
The fact that an old woman who entered a while after he did, seemed to be having a hard time standing straight and her gaze was on the seat he sat on.
But unexpectedly the blonde guy didn't show any concern or remorse.
I went back to enjoying the scenery and experiencing this new feeling of the shaking and bobbing of the seat, which brought comfort to my back- kinda like sitting on a massage chair.
Or rather I should say, what I 'think' sitting on a massage chair would feel like.
My enjoyment was soon brought to an end. Just as I expected there was a debate going on between the blonde guy and an office lady who stepped up for the old lady.
"Hey, you there. Can't you see that this elderly woman is having trouble?" The office lady said prompting the guy to give up his seat.
Her voice carried quite well throughout the quiet bus, attracting several
people's attention."That's a really crazy question, lady," The boy said.
I wondered whether the boy was angry, unobservant, or just painfully honest. In any case, he grinned broadly and crossed his legs.
"Why should I offer up my seat? There's no reason for me to do so."
"You're sitting in a priority seat. It's natural to offer up those seats to the elderly."
"I don't understand. Priority seats are just that: priority seats. I have no legal obligation to move. Since I'm currently occupying this seat, I should be the one who determines whether or not I move. Am I supposed to give up my seat just because I'm young? Ha! That reasoning is nonsense."
He didn't speak like a normal high school student. Since his hair is dyed
blond, it made him stand out too.Well, I knew he wasn't normal from the start but this is really entertaining.
