A M I R A H A Y ES
September 22nd, 1994OF FUCKING COURSE. What did I expect in this dormitory? Privacy? Cedric is looking at me, his eyes wide and alert, and his hair a frizzy mess. I would have laughed, if the circumstances were different.
"Move." I mutter to him whilst sitting up.
"And be quiet." I continue.
He rises from the ground, stepping away from my bed cautiously. I pull my white blouse over my head, fumbling with the collar in an effort to look a little more presentable, although the wrinkles deeply formed on the fabric makes it all too noticeable that I've slept in it. I stand up, glancing over at Cedric to see him holding up my black trousers in his fingertips, the same ones that he previously tossed across the floor a few minutes ago.
"Might need these." He whispers to me, a smirk playing across his flushed lips. Lust is still present in his features, his eyes glistening. How is he so serene?
"Right." I take them, slipping them on as quick as possible, jumping into each pant leg, walking over to the door.
My hand reaches the knob on the door, proceeding to open it scarcely with the intention that only my body is in view but not the remains of the room. I do this on purpose. Professor Mcgonagall is present in front of me. Her hair pulled back in that tight bun as always. Must give her a bloody migraine, that's for sure. Wait. Is she even allowed in these dormitories?
"Why aren't you in Potions class Ms Hayes?"
Well I don't know... maybe because I am with Cedric Diggory.
"It is well past twenty minutes through class." She continues, crossing her arms over her chest.
Has it seriously been twenty minutes? I decide to tell her what she wants to hear.
"My apologies Professor, I was up late last night doing homework and slept in, I will be heading to class now." I attempt to speak in my most confident voice I can muster, straightening my posture while doing so.
"Next time Professor Snape asks me to fetch you, I will be giving you detention." She walks away, down the dormitory staircase.
I close the door, leaning my back against it, releasing a jagged breath, grateful that Professor didn't investigate my surroundings any further. I'm incredibly lucky that it wasn't a student, even if getting on Snape's bad side (does he have a good side?) isn't a good way to start your day. However, starting your day with a boy sneaking into your dorms... It hits me all at once.
I snogged Cedric Diggory in my dorm room during Potions class.
Something tells me Hermione would be disgusted by my lack of dignity at this moment.
"I should head out." Cedric talks quietly, placing a hurried kiss on my forehead.
A fraction of me wishes we could stay here all day, hide from everything, everyone, and the responsibility of the tournament itself. The rest of our problems entirely. I bring myself to accept the conclusion once again that Cedric volunteered for the tournament, he wanted this. I did too, at one point, but didn't everyone? In the beginning of the term, this tournament was presented to be some life-changing, honourable concept. I've come to believe none of it now.
Cedric and I most likely will never see eye-to-eye about it.
You haven't even bothered to ask idiot. Or congratulate him...still!
"Probably." I side-step away from the door awkwardly, giving him space to leave.
"I'll see you later though. Right?" He's more asking, rather than telling.
