The next day, Leonard was able to ride the bus to school. The whole his-mom-drives-him-to-school thing was just on the first day. To his surprise, Juliette rode the same bus as Leonard. Leonard sat two seats behind Juliette and on the other side, the right side. Leonard got out his Samsung phone and started listening to Eminem on his Spotify playlist. He continued listening to his music until the bus reached the school building. As he was walking out of the bus, he noticed that Juliette was struggling to get her stuff in her bag. Leonard decided to not pay much attention to it. When Juliette got out of the bus, all her books spilled out of get bag and onto the sidewalk. Leonard saw that and walked over to help her, since no one was willing to do that. He walked over and stated picking up the books from the ground. "Thanks for helping me." saud Juliette as she put the books in her bag.  "My pleasure." said Leonard, who was flipping out internally.  "Hey, don't you sit next to me in Algebra." asked Juliette, putting her bag over her shoulders.  "Yeah, I do." responded Leonard.  "You seem pretty cool. Wanna, I don't know, sit together at lunch or something.  "Okay. Sure then." said Leonard.  "Okay. I guess I'll see you in Algebra. Bye." said Juliette.  "Okay, see you then." said Leonard. He couldn't believe it. His plan sort of, kind of worked. He was screaming on the inside, but was able to stay calm and cool on the outside.    During Algebra class, Leonard made his way to his seat. He put down his books and sat next to Juliette. Unfortunately, on the other side of Juliette was Brad, Juliette's boyfriend. He knew his name was Brad because it was engraved in a necklace that he was wearing. While Juliette was wearing a necklace that said Juliette. Underneath each name was a half of a heart that was completed when put together. Leonard had to play it cool because he was playing hard-to-get. Playing hard-to-get was easy because Juliette wasn't even trying to get Leonard. Leonard sat down and class continued. Even though Juliette already had a boyfriend, that didn't stop Leonard from trying to make Juliette his girlfriend. All throughout class Juliette was getting notes from Brad and passing them back. Leonard now knew what torture was, but, surprisingly, he kept his cool.      At lunch, Leonard sat with Juliette and Brad, along with Juliette and Brad's friends. One of Juliette's friends, Rebecca, apparently, liked Leonard. She sat next to him just asking him question like, "What do you do for fun? What's your favorite color? Cats or dogs?" Half of the time Leonard didn't even listen. He was just wondering how he had gotten himself into this. Then he realized, "I'm an idiot." said Leonard to himself. After lunch, Leonard got invited to Juliette's birthday party.    "By the way Leonard, I was wondering if you wanted to go to my birthday party?" asked Juliette.  "Sure. I'd love to." said Leonard.  "Great! The party starts at seven this Saturday." said Juliette getting ready to leave.  "Alright, see you there." said Leonard.  Great. Now he had to spend more time with Juliette. The bad part about that was that Brad would be there and that would just make Leonard jealous. He had to go because if he didn't, he would look like a terrible friend. Well, a newly befriended classmate. Either way, he was kind of forced to go to the party. Another bad part was that Rebecca was also going to be there. She would probably be all over Leonard and won't let him go. On the other hand, if Rebecca was going to be there, and is she really dud like Leonard, it would distract him from Juliette and make the night better. After realizing that, Leonard felt much more confident. He was certainly ready to go. "Guess Saturday night isn't going to be that bad." thought Leonard. In retrospect, Rebecca wasn't ugly anyway. In fact, she was actually pretty cute. She was a short, blond girl with wavy hair and bangs. Leonard and Rebecca also had a lot in common. Maybe if Rebecca liked Leonard, they could maybe have a relationship. Either way it was sure to be fun night.    Saturday night had arrived and it was 5:27 when Leonard stated getting ready. He got in the shower to make sure his hair looked good and so his body could be nice, clean, and fresh. After getting our of the shower, Leonard pucked out his khaki cargo pants, a blue and white vertically thinly striped button up Polo shirt, and a skinny black neck tie. He combed back with hair like usual, sprayed some cologne, applied some deodorant, brushed his teeth, applied some ChapStick, and popped in a piece of cinnamon flavored gum. By the time he was done, it was around 6:15 PM. The ride from his house to Juliette's house was around half an hour, so he had enough time. He wanted to be there late so he didn't seem to excited about the party. He also wanted to get Juliette a gift from the mall.    "Someone is looking extra handsome tonight. Are you planning on meeting a girl there?" asked Mrs. Levinski.  "No, not really. I just wanted to look my best." responded Leonard.  "Either way, you look great, honey." said Mrs. Levinski.  "Thanks, mom. By the way, could you so by the mall so I can get Juliette something?" asked Leonard.  "Certainly." said Mrs. Levinski.  When they reached Juliette's house, Leonard got out of the car and Mrs. Levinski drive off after saying bye.
