Chapter 1.
Eve stood on one side of the London bridge, filled with hope and shameless desperation for the beautiful blonde to turn around. She stood still, praying for what seemed like hours. At last, Villanelle turned, half expecting to see nothing, eyes glittering when she saw Eve.
Eve couldn't contain how happy she felt. A huge smile stretched across her face as her and Villanelle stood on opposite sides of the bridge, eyes meeting and longing for one another. Still frozen in place, she never wanted this moment to end.
Villanelle started walking towards Eve, to which she began to walk too. Villanelle had a very smug smile on her face that made Eve roll her eyes. It was kind of adorable, actually.
Villanelle and Eve met, inches away from one another now. Please let this be real, Eve thought. "You turned," the mischievous blonde said, a smile of relief replacing her smugness. "So did you." Eve replied. A few seconds that felt like whole minutes passed, their faces closer together now. Eve took the opportunity to admire her beauty. Her beautiful blonde hair, perfectly in place. Her soft, full lips just waiting to be touched. Her wide, cat like eyes twinkling with real emotion. For a moment, Eve thought she saw sadness. Villanelle's voice brought her back to the world. "So what now, Eve?" Villanelle asked softly.
Eve admired for a moment how much Villanelle had changed. She still had all of the features and quirks that Eve fell in love with, but this time she was.. different. She was giving Eve a choice. Things really had changed after Rome.
"I don't know." Eve said, simply. "Do you still want me to make it stop?" Villanelle asked, not impatiently. Eve thought for a moment. She didn't want anything to ruin this. "No, I don't." Villanelle waited for Eve to continue her thought. "I don't know what happens next, all I know is that I want to be with you. I never want to lose you again." Villanelle's eyes lit up at these words and for a moment it seemed like she was going to cry. "I don't want to lose you either, Eve," her voice not as calm or sure as it had once been. Now she sounded vulnerable. "Then let's go. Let's get out of here, together." Eve offered her hand. Villanelle took it without hesitation. Before they could walk off together, Villanelle realised there was one last thing she wanted before they did. "Wait, Eve."
Eve stopped. "Can I.. Kiss you?" She asked awkwardly. Eve laughed at this. Without response, she took a step forward. For what felt like the first time, their lips met. Eve's hands cupped villanelle's beautiful, soft, adorable face, stroking her hair as she did so. The whole world went dark and quiet as they let go of all their worries and gave into passion. They kissed for a long time, not wanting to let go of one another ever again.
Finally, as their lips parted, they stood in silence for a minute more. Eyes closed, heads rested against one another, holding each other and protecting each other from the world. Their eyes opened and met once more. "That was amazing, Eve," Villanelle said, now stroking Eve's beautiful, curly hair. Eve laughed once more, this time giddily. For the first time in a long time, she felt alive. "Yes. It was."
