Let Me Sleep (4x)

A/N: BFB 30 SPOILERS this story is kind of going off the flashback in the episode and well, can't have a Four shipping book without some good ol 4x backstory shenanigans (or u could I won't judge) also sorry for only the first story having art, I write on my phone and its hard for me to draw on this thing.

It had been a year since IDFB had it's first episode and Four still saw no notification on Jacknjellify's YouTube about it, hadn't seen anything from the creators, and even the forums on fan websites were just quiet. Their favorite show had been canceled and that was that. The community was barely alive to create fan content anymore.

What was Four without this? Four had already rewatched the whole show about 1,624 times since it ended, and while they could never get bored by the show, they wanted more.

"Four! I'm having Six over, please try not to be weird while they're here!" X called from the kitchen. "Uhuh." Four would reply unenthusiastically, staring at the television a moment longer waiting for a notification telling them that the show was miraculously continued but just sighed and turned it off as nothing happened.

"Do you need help with anything..?" Four said quietly as they entered the kitchen, watching X using a stool to reach the higher cupboards "No, thank you, though. I take it that show you like still hasn't aired a new episode?" X asked, Four sighing and shaking their head "Nope, nobody is even talking about it in the fan forums.." Four stated, X going up to them and giving Four a hug "Well, maybe the creators moved on? They started that show when they were kids, didn't they?" X asked, Four nodded slowly "Y-yeah but.. so many people love the show still!" Four said in protest, X sighing "If you want to keep watching that show over and over I won't stop you, I never have and I doubt that I can, but maybe it's time you move on as well?" X suggested with a slight smile, Four just looked down at them a moment before letting go from the hug and heading back to their bedroom.

They hadn't been in there for a while, there was a thick layer of dust on everything. Four snapped their fingers and the room was magically cleaned and they laid down in bed. It was firm and not very comfortable but they melted into the fabric eventually as they drifted off and had the first sleep they experienced in years.

Four woke up on the couch. Odd, X must've moved them for some reason. Four turned on the TV to check for a new episode of BFDI, not expecting much but being completely taken by surprise when they saw there was a new episode of IDFB! "Take that, X!" They giggled, there was no reply but that didn't bother them as they turned on the new episode and started watching. The episode was everything Four could have wanted, it was amazing!

Just as Four was about to go enthuse to X about the episode, Four saw a notification from Jacknjellify's channel again reading that episode 3 was out! Four quickly clicked it without a second thought and started watching it. That episode finished as well, but then a notification for episode 4 came out! That was their favorite number!

This continued as Four watched new episode after new episode, and after the season ended, another started! This was a dream come true! They watched for hours, the show never stopped and Four never batted an eye to it, if they did then they might have missed something anyways!

Then Four heard something strange, it was X? The voice got louder and more understandable quickly. Four paused the show so they didn't miss anything.

"Four! Where are you! I'm sorry if I upset you earlier I just missed you!" X's voice said, Four got up and looked around the house curiously for their friend. "X? Where are you at buddy? You'll never believe what I'm about to show you!" Four smiled as they looked for X and eventually found them back in the living room. "X! There you are! I know you aren't interested in BFDI, but there's so many new episodes! I told you there was hope!" Four hugged X happily "Sure let's do that! I wrote some fan theories about the announcer speaker box a while back, actually!" X said, Four seeming surprised "Wait, really? Let's compare! I have so many ideas!" Four smiled and sat on the couch with X happy that they enjoyed the show.

"Four? What the.." Four heard X again but they were already mid way through explaining  their headcanon? They felt the house shake and looked around fearfully. "What was that?" X got scared and hugged Four tightly.

"Four wake up! Why aren't you waking up!" The voice sounded panicked, Four finally realized what was happening. "Is this real..?" Four looked back at the at the TV, there were still new episodes coming out about every half hour. BFDI usually took at least a month for an episode to be aired. X didn't like BFDI that much, especially not enough to create their own head canon this good..but.. it wasn't even their headcanon! Four remembered writing that headcanon!

"What do you mean, Four? Isn't this great? This is as real as your soft beautiful skin!" X cooed, nuzzling into Four, the number blushed and hugged X a bit closer. What if this wasn't fake though, what if Four could stay here forever? They didn't want to wake up.

"It's fine, X, everything here is perfect, it doesn't have to be real.." Four closed their eyes and hugged X closely. "Okay then!" X kissed Four on the cheek and Four frowned "N-no.. its not perfect.." Four opened their eyes. "You don't actually love me.. I don't think you do at least.. I think I should wake up.." Four looked down at the little variable before snapping their fingers and everything going away.

Four woke up in bed and saw X at the end of the bed watching them. "F-Four!" X smiled and almost fell back as they saw Four sit up, getting off the bed and going around to hug them. "Morning', X!" Four hugged back happily and gave them a pat on the head. "Are you sick? Why were you asleep like that?" X asked with a face of concern.

"I was having a good dream.. I didn't want to wake up but.. I did.. but maybe my dream doesn't have to end when I wake up, at least, certain parts of it." Four smiled tenderly down looking down to his little friend who just giggled "Whatever your dream was, Four, I'll help you in making that dream come true!" They said happily, Four picked them up and sat them in bed in front of them.

"So, what do you even do besides take care of me?" Four asked, X seemed surprised by the question but happily answered "I'm a gardener! You haven't been outside in a while, but I have a large flower garden and grow lots of fruits and veggies! All that food i make you is made with mostly ingredients from the garden, actually!" X said proudly "Can I see?" Four asked, X happily nodded. "Here, let me get you some of my aloe sunblock first, wouldn't want your first day outside in seven years to end in a bad sunburn!" X went off to go get the sunblock as Four smiled.

Four had a new favorite show and they could watch them all day.
