After Cassi and Marley got back home they knew they wouldn't be apart for too long as the begining of a new school year was approaching. Donna and Charlie had already arranged everything for the Quidditch World Cup and Cassi was quite excited. More because of George rather than the game. She realized she should have stopped thinking about him by now but the recurring letters he sent her weren't helping. He was always so sweet, asking her about herself and telling her she was missed. However, she couldn't help but to notice how he never said he missed her in particular. It caused her to have quite the rollercoaster of emotions. On one hand, she had done a pretty good job convincing herself that he wouldn't like her back and that a relationship with him was completely off thee table. On the other hand, sometimes whilst reading his letter she felt a bit hopeful.
Cassi let out a big exasperated sigh as she scratched her owls neck affectionately. Virgo had brought more letters to her. Harry had also kept in touch and he had wrote to her to let her know he was already staying with the Weasley's. She was happy he kept in touch, after all they were kind if a family now. Harry was a good kid and she hoped he had a quiet year for once. She decided against writing him back as the letter would probably take too long to arrive and they would probably see each other the following day.
The girl looked to the pile of letters next to her and realized she had forgotten to open one. She picked up the envelope and immediately the smell of male cologne lingered in the air. She stared at the name so carefully written in surprise. Adrian Pucey. It was unusual for him to send a letter. Despise them snogging on their fourth year they would only speak occasionally and there was always a bit of tension between them. However, she thought Adrian was nice, perhaps a bit too nice for his own good sometimes. She knew about the dynamic of the Slytherin Quidditch team and a guy like Adrian would not be particularly well liked.
Dear Cassiopeia,
I hope this letter doesn't come as too much of a shock. I know we aren't particularly close but ever since I saw you that day after the game that I have been wanting to talk to you. You seem like a friendly person and I assume we have some things in common. I'll be at the Quidditch World Cup, maybe we can meet there and talk for a while. I'll be quite near the Top Box if you want look for me.
Best regards,
Adrian Pucey.
Cassi couldn't help but to chuckle a little. Even through a letter he seemed awfully awkward, it was kind of endearing. Her smile soon faltered at the thought of George. Marley did mention she should give the change to someone else if he didn't take it himself. She sighed deeply unsure of what to write back to Adrian.
"Adrian Pucey?" Donna said as she looked over her shoulder. "Looks like you have a lot of suitors, Cassiopeia." The blond woman wiggled her eyebrows at her suggestively. Cassi couldn' help but to laugh at her statement. "But what about the Weasley boy?" She questioned and Cassi's smiled faltered.
"I don't think that's gonna work out. We're just friends." She said. Donna muttered something about him being a git between her teeth. "He's a great guy, though. Just not meant for me." She told her.
"This Adrian..." Donna started. "...Is he decent?" Cassi nodded with a half smile.
"Yeah he's nice. He's in the Quidditch team. He's also a Slytherin like me." She explained but decided against telling Donna how she had met him. The woman smiled at her and gave her a kiss on the forehead, before exiting the room. She wondered for a bit what she should write back to him or if she should just look for him when she got there. Cassi decided that he probably wouldn't get the letter in time so she would ask someone for his whereabouts.
