After Yami's rejection Seto once again drowned himself in work.
When he wasn't working he was picking up men at bars, spending his nights in the embrace of people he cared nothing for. The only thing that helped him get by was not getting by at all.
He never allowed himself free time. He barely slept, ate only when his body needed him too, and ran completely on auto pilot. Nothing made much of a difference in his life. All the people were dull, the food tasteless, and the music muffled.
The media caught onto his habit of picking up men. He couldn't find it within himself to care.
Mokuba was furious to have learned of his brother's sexuality through the media and not Seto's own mouth.
An argument ensued that ended with Mokuba begging his brother to see a psychiatrist-- not for being gay, but for his current unhealthy way of living--. Seto refused, too prideful to change. There was no more to be said about the situation, and so Mokuba let it go, simply reminding Seto that he loved him.
...
"No kissing, I don't do that." Seto pushed the shorter man away from his face.
His breath smelled like beer and cigarettes anyway, which made Seto's stomach churl.
"Alright man whatever." the man responded with a shrug.
They weren't even to the hotel room yet and the man was getting much too handsy for Seto's liking. This wasn't within his comfort zone, he never allowed touching in public for the fear of getting caught by hidden cameras just waiting for the next juicy story.
Seto could already see the new headline; "Kaiba's new lover?!?!" when this guy didn't even really know who Seto was. Seto always used a fake alias when meeting up with guys ever since his and Mokuba's argument. He often pretended to be a college student, dressed completely unlike himself, and even allowed men to buy affections from him. He found this to be somewhat humorous considering he didn't even need the money to begin with.
"Dude you're so tall, how old did you say you were again?" the man had his arm around Seto's shoulders, pulling him down in an awkward and uncomfortable position.
"Nineteen." Seto responded, though he was actually five years older than that. The less information they have to put the pieces together, the better. "How far to the hotel again?"
"Ah man I was supposed to book a room a while ago huh? I totally forgot! Haha!"
Seto let out an exasperated sigh. Of course trusting this drunk idiot with anything would turn out like this. They had spoken over a dating app before meeting up, something else he had gotten used to doing over the past few months.
"Man why don't we go to your plaaaace??" the stranger put his face against Seto's neck, apparently thinking that would make Seto really raring to agree.
"That's not happening guy." Seto responded, once again trying to get distance between them.
"C'mon duuude, you're being such a stick in the mud!" the man giggled and wrapped his arms around Seto's waist, grasping uncomfortably at his ass.
"Man, back off." Kaiba once again tries to pull the guy off of him and step away, this time just wanting all contact broken, "Have a little patience."
"I've had patience all week, you kept blowing me offff." The drunk man suddenly snorts, "Haha blowing me. Do you think you could do that?"
Seto clenched his jaw, trying not to let his anger get the best of him.
"You know, I could've if you had actually booked us a room." He snarked, glaring at the smaller man.
