Suffocating. Eric was suffocating. The darkness of his room, the silence in the air, the sweat dripping down his forehead, everything made him feel a shortness of breath he's never felt before.

His conscience was eating him from the inside out, tearing through his heart, down to his trembling hands, everything put a weight on his chest that he just couldn't seem to shake.

His eyes darted from one side of his room to another, panic rising in him. He clenched his fists, squeezed his eyes shut and tried to collect himself. All attempts went in vain.

He couldn't breath, every breath he tried to take barely reached his lungs.

He felt tears build up in the corners of his eyes, a sob lodged in his throat like a pill.

He bolted up, scooting backwards until his back was against the headboard of his bed. He held a pillow to his chest, clenching it with his fists like a lifeline. He buried his face into it, hoping to drown out the sounds of his sobbing.

Day 5 without Juyeon. It was a nightmare. Juyeon was back in Gwangju after his mother got sick, he wanted to be there in case his family needed any help. Juyeon had insisted he stay home, very aware of Eric's severe separation anxiety. But Eric urged Juyeon to go back to his hometown, his mother needed him more than Eric did.

So now Eric was alone. The first few days were fine, his anxiety wasn't so bad for the first few days. But now it's gotten worse, he's never gone more than three days away from Juyeon. And it was starting to take a toll on him.

That's it. He left me.
He doesn't love my anymore. I was too clingy.
I should have backed off.
I should have known he'd get sick of me.

Eric continued to sob into Juyeon's pillow, his grip on it tightening.

His breathing was shallow and he started hiccuping.

The sound of the front door unlocking make Eric freeze. He listened carefully.

He heard the door open, and close, and then lock again.

He threw the pillow away, he stumbled off the bed and practically sprinted to the entrance of their shared home.

Eric then saw Juyeon shrugging of his jacket, his bag on the floor next to him.

The younger ran up to the elder and jumped to embrace him.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Juyeon asked softly, wrapping his arms around Eric's smaller frame.

Eric let out a choked sob, hugging Juyeon tighter.

"I-...I thought you left me." Eric cried.

Juyeon sighed, running his hand up and down Eric's back.

"It's okay, sweetheart. I'm right here, I'm not going anywhere, okay?" Juyeon comforted. "I knew leaving you alone was a bad idea. I should've stayed home. Or at least should've taken you with me."

Eric pulled back and shook his head.

"It's not your fault, Juyeon. I was fine the first few days. I just had a bad day today." Eric explained.

Juyeon smiled down at Eric.

"Okay. Let's get you back to bed, I've had a long drive." Juyeon said, turning Eric back around and walking them to their bedroom.

Juyeon changed out of his day clothes and put on something more comfortable, he washed his face and did his skincare routine. All meanwhile Eric sat on the bed with his legs crossed, patiently waiting for his boyfriend to join him.
