Annika had her hands stuffed into her jacket pockets as she and Doc waited for Marty to show. According to Doc, Marty had claimed that he didn't fall asleep, but he definitely had.

As they waited, the girl tried to get some sort of answers from Doc, but he wouldn't explain anything until Marty got there with the video camera. She eventually gave up and sat with Einstein until Marty showed up.

"Einstein!" Annika looked up to see Marty approaching her and the dog on his skateboard. "Hey, Einstein, where's the doc, boy?" He asked the dog, crouching down to his level.

"Nice to see you too, McFly," Annika joked. Marty reached over and messed up her hair in reply.

A machine roaring to life caught their attention, and they turned to watch as the back of Doc's van opened. Smoke billowed out and revealed a DeLorean car. It slowly backed out and came to a stop in front of Annika and Marty, and Doc exited the car.

"Doc!" Marty approached the older man. Doc turned around in surprise to see Marty.

"Marty! You made it!" He embraced the younger boy briefly. "Welcome to my latest experiment. This is the big one, the one I've been waiting for all my life."

Annika looked at the car in confusion. "It's a DeLorean, right?"

"Bear with me," Doc turned to her. "All your questions will be answered." He turned to Marty and gestured towards the video camera. "Roll tape, and we'll proceed."

Doc pushed Annika and Marty to the back of the car. Marty stopped and took a look at what the doctor was wearing. "Is that a Devo suit?" He asked. Annika cracked a grin and nodded, it did look like something Devo would wear."

"Never mind that now, never mind that now," Doc insisted. "Not now." Marty held up the camera and aimed it on Doc. Annika stood just behind his shoulder.

"I'm ready," Marty pressed record.

"Good evening, I'm Dr. Emmett Brown," Doc introduced himself to the camera. "I'm standing in the parking lot at Twin Pines Mall. It's Saturday morning, October 26, 1985, 1:18 am." Marty and Annika both checked their watched alongside Doc. "This is temporal experiment number one."

Doc suddenly turned toward the back of the car and called for Einstein. Marty followed them with his camera as Doc ushered the dog into the drivers seat. He buckled Einstein in and crouched down next to him. Marty kneeled down to get a good angle and Annika crouched behind him with a hand on his shoulder.

Doc continued to address the camera. He grabbed a stopwatch that was around Einstein's neck and held it up to his own. "Please not that Einstein's clock is in precise synchronization with my control watch. Got it?" He asked Marty.

"Right. Check, Doc," Marty replied.

"Good." Doc stood and pet Einstein on the head. "Have a good trip, Einstein. Watch your head." He closed the car door and backed away, playing with a controller in his hands.

"You got that thing hooked up to the car?" Marty asked him.

"Watch this," Doc ignored him and pressed a button on the controller.

"What's going to happen to Einstein?" Annika asked. Doc ignored her and activated the controller as Marty held the video camera up.

The DeLorean backed up and drove around the parking lot on its own. Annika and Marty stared at amazement, and unintentionally, Marty pointed the video camera at Doc.

"Not me, the car!" He told him, keeping his eyes on said car. Annika and Marty turned back and watched in anticipation.

Finally having the car in the right position, Doc grabbed Annika's and Marty's sleeves and pulled them to stand several yards in front of it.
