Free- Verse Poems: KOTLC Edition

Sophie

As I open my eyes,

I realize that I can breathe.

I try to move, 

but when I do,

I notice Lady Gisela.

She is floating on top of what seems to be a force field.

It looks like she is dead. 

I look around for my friends,

then realize they aren't here. 

I walk around,

trying to find someone.

I find myself near the force field. 

I touch it.

My hand goes right through it. 

I swim through the globe over me. 

I kick to the surface.

All of a sudden, 

I see a huge splash at the surface.

When the bubbles subside, 

I see Dex.

He is thrashing in the water.

I break the surface,

Sending ripples all around me. 

There is electricity crackling all over him.

Like beautiful glowing ropes,

Flying around his body.

I shove into his mind,

because the electricity is blocking his mind.

I feel the cold pain of electricity wash over me,

Like a thousand needles pricking my skin.

Just a thousand times worse.

I see him look at me,

eyes as wide as saucers,

And I grab him and pull him into the bubble. 

The pain I'm feeling from Dex is subsiding.

I let him sleep. 

I see he has a communication gadget with him.

I tell them to come here.

And swim down,

                                  down,

                                              down.
