That night I slept over at Ellie's. She told me about Australia and how she met this really cute guy named Jake, who lived in Melbourne and was friends with one of her cousins. After that we spent the night watching movies and eating ice-cream. Well, Ellie ate ice-cream, and I, Hershey's. Anyone who knows me knows that I am obsessed with Hershey chocolate. Those things are my lifesavers. We ended up staying up all night, then going to the pool the next day.
"It's the last day that the pool is open and it's the first day I get to come." complained Ellie. Of course this is the girl who spent her entire summer at the beach.
"You are not on to complain."
Ellie is a beautiful seventeen year old who basically had guys falling at her feet. She has long brown hair that falls in perfect waves when she doesn't even try, the perfect summer body, once again- not trying, and wears simple and natural makeup when she doesn't even need it. I on the other hand, am an awkward girl who hates her laugh, thinks her voice is annoying to anyone who hears it, and is super self conscious of how she looks and people judging her. Unlike Ellie, I worry about what I look like. I have the lowest self of steam in my entire school. Especially with the standards that the "popular people" set at our school. To everyone that doesn't know me, they may think that she is a happy, confident, smart girl. Only my dearest friends know that I actually get stressed really easily, and don't really have a life. You see, my parents have really high standards. My mother wants me to be a proper lady, she has this vision of who she wants me to be. My father, says he wants me to be the best I can be and "pushes" me, but really only wants me to be the best for him so I can be known as the best in sports. Neither of them care that I have good grades, they don't even ask about my grades. My sister could care less about anyone, she's going through what my parents call a "phase". This "phase" has been going on for almost two years. It's not exactly a phase if you ask me. They call it a phase because she's not who they want her to be. She is a great artist, who wants to be a tattoo artist. She has a grundge type of look to her. When she starts to draw, you can see that spark in her eyes, the happiness that usually isn't there. That's why she usually hides out in her room just like me, so we can escape from our parents pressuring us and complaining about how this isn't what ladies do and to not act like that.
This is why I am often with Ellie, to get away from all of the "family" drama.
"So, what do you want to do this weekend?" I ask
I can already see the happiness in her eyes. She hasn't been back to our hometown in Oregan in months. This was her weekend to spend it however she liked.
"Well, first lets start of with the pool." She said with a huge grin spreading across her face.
And with that, she pushed into the pool with my flip-flops still on, and my my clothes still on over my swimsuit.

The rest of the weekend Ellie, Catelin, and I just hung out at each other's houses. For just meeting, Ellie and Catelin caught on really fast.
Now it's Monday morning, and I have to get ready for school. Since I don't have a car, Ellie always drives us to school. I don't really understand why Monday can't be part of the weekend. Everyone hates them, so why not have them as a day off?
I got ready with my usual routine; taking a shower, getting dressed, put on a little bit of makeup, and do my hair. Today I felt like doing something simple, so I just pulled the front pieces back and tying them together in the back. Ellie picks me up around 7:00, her usual time since school starts at 7:25.
When we get to school, everything is normal as I head to French. That is until I see Olivia walking straight towards me. At our school, Olivia Wess is the "Queen B" and by B, I mean a not so nice word.
"Hey Car!" Sarcastic laced venom practically drips from her mouth. Olivia hates me for some unknown reason, and always has to make sure everyone knows it.
"Hey Olivia! What are you doing over here?" This hallway was the honors hallway. And as you can guess, Olivia's not the sharpest knife in the drawer.
"Oh ya know, just seeing Asher." At this point I'm choking on the air trying to make its way to my lungs.
"Oh, are you two together or?" I'm genuinely curious. I didn't think he would go for someone as stupid as her.
"Excuse me?! It's not like he would go for some introverted nerd like you." She says this with a snarl in her voice, and with that voice, I'm actually a little bit scared. If it were possible, she would have smoke coming out of her ears. Oh crap. I think I just said that out loud.
"Yeah, you did." Did it again.
"Oh my gosh, Olivia I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to say that out loud."
As soon as I say this, a smirk as wide as Texas appears on her face.
"Oh no problem. I was just talking to someone in the hallway, who said you had a fling with Jake this summer?"
"What? Who told you that because I can as sure as hell tell you that is not true." At this my face turns bright red and it's obvious I feel uncomfortable, Olivia takes note on this and doesn't make any effort to stop the conversation. Of course I didn't have a "fling" with Jake Myers, I'm not that kind of girl. I'm the kind of girl who spends her summer days at basketball camps and the rest of the time watching Netflix and reading romantic love story's that could never happen in real life. Yeah, I'm the type who doesn't really have a life and obsessed with romance. I've never had a boyfriend, never had my first kiss, nothing. I think you can see why I'm so romance-obsessed.
"Oh, just a little birdy told me. But, your saying that never happened?"
"Of course not. That will never happen. Ever." At this point I know for a fact that that "little birdy", was her.
"Okay, well have a good day!" You could hear the sarcasm in her voice if you where deaf. As she walks off, she makes a point to shove my shoulder with force, to try and make me fall down. Olivia is mean to everyone, but with me, it's different. With me, she tries her very hardest to make my life a living hell. Most of the time it works because I don't usually speak up and don't have a lot of friends, but sometimes it doesn't- like today. After her confrontation, I head to french. Realizing Olivia made me late, I groan.
"Really?" with my french teacher, Madame Blanchard, if your late, you automatically get a detention. Since I am five minutes late when I walk in, I get a detention slip. The first week of school and I've already gotten a detention. Of course I've gotten a detention in the past years of highschool, but they where mostly because of being late towards the end of the year. With the detention slip, i head to the only seat left in class, next to Asher. Being thrilled about where get to sit(note the sarcasm) I plop down in my seat and quietly put my things in my desk. As I write down the notes from the board, I start to feel someone watching me. I look to the left and see Asher starring at me with a confused look on his face.
"What?" I ask why, because I'm curious as to why he is starring at me and not doing something better with his time.
"Why are writing down the notes?" He still that confused look on his face.
Are you serious? "So I can study them when we have a test. Why else? They're called notes for a reason." I go back to my note writing, but i can still feel him starring at me.
"Can you please stop starring at me?" At this he just starts smirking at me.
"You know, most girls would kill to have me starring at them for this amount of time." He still has that stupid smirk on his face.
"Can I kill myself instead?" proud of myself for such a good comeback, I smile. When I see the smirk leave his face, it makes me smile even more. As I go back to my notes, i can still feel him starring at me.
"Dude, stop starring at me!" At this point, I can feel the entire class starring at us and my face goes red.
"Mr. Woods, please keep your eyes to yourself." This is the first time in my entire life I've seen someone's face just as red as mine.
