"How do you manage to forget where THE GIFT is?"
"Hey, chill out." Mandy turned to Lou . "I think if you have already been called, the situation is hopeless..."
"Yeah..." He looked to Babo. "The situation is definitely hopeless."
"Thank you for coming... Once again..." Babo said quietly.
Lou slightly arched his eyebrows. He shouldn't have treated him like that. After all, ugly dolls were never known for discipline.
They entered Babo's little house a couple of minutes ago. Fortunately, the furnishings were better than those of Ugly Dog. There was even furniture. In Lou's opinion, it certainly was tasteless, but it was better than nothing. And let them express themselves as they want, the main thing is that no one should touch his (new) house.
It turned out that Babo had managed to lose the gift he had prepared for Tuesday. And several days of searching were unsuccessful.
"So." Lou rubbed the bridge of his nose. "If you think logically... This is a set of hairpins. So it should be in the accessory case. Do you have it?"
"Yes I do, but..."
"What."
"Oh, they shouldn't be there for sure. I checked."
"Why shouldn't they be there?"
"It's too obvious. And we are against the obvious."
"And yet I'll take a look." Lou said confidently.
"Well, if you want ... I usually fold all sorts of trinkets there..." Babo pointed to a wooden chest of drawers that stood against the wall.
Lou walked over to the chest and literally a couple of seconds later coughed loudly.
Mandy was a little alarmed, the gesture definitely didn't mean something good.
Lou silently turned to the dolls, hands behind his back.
"What's this?" He raised his right hand, in which there were hairpins.
"But I looked there..." Babo said in surprise.
"So you looked bad." Lou came up and with a calm face handed the loss to Babo.
"Wow! The gift nevertheless ended up where it should lay!" The gray doll exclaimed.
"Yeah, amazing," Lou said, gritting his teeth. His eye seemed to twitch.
