Shouta's POV
As soon as he enters the classroom on the second day, he wishes he had died in his sleep. Midoriya is sitting quietly in his seat, seemingly ignoring his classmates' attempts to talk to him. He looks more sleep deprived than Shouta himself, but that's not even the most concerning part. What worries him most is that Todoroki's eyes are glued to the back of his head from the back of the classroom and he looks more worried than the rest of the class combined. When first period ends, he calls the boy out to the hallway to talk to him. "Kid, are you alright?" he asks.
"Yeah," his student says, but he's obviously lying, "I'm fine."
"Really? Because you look more sleep deprived than me, which at this point is an accomplishment. I'm not sure whether I should be congratulating you or reprimanding you," Shouta explains, only half joking.
His student snorts in amusement. "Really sensei, I'm alright, just a bit tired. I didn't sleep very well last night. It's normal at this point. To be honest, you should probably be more surprised when I do look well rested," he explains and Shouta can't tell if that last part is supposed to be a joke or not.
"Oh? Do you have insomnia?" he asks, concerned.
The kid just shrugs, "I don't know, probably."
"And what do you think could have caused it?" he asks.
"Probably my anxiety," the kid proclaims, not seeming worried in the slightest.
"Well have you at least seen a doctor about the issue?" he asks. This conversation is starting to give him a migraine.
Midoriya raises his eyebrow at him, "don't you think that if I'd seen a doctor that I'd know whether I have insomnia or not?"
"Good point. Have you spoken to your parents about it then?" he asks as a last resort.
"Nope," the kid responds simply.
Shouta sighs, massaging his temples with the pads of his thumbs. This conversation is seriously making him consider the pros and cons of a lobotomy via ink pen. "You know what, whatever, just get to class," he says, a bit irritably.
Izu's POV
It isn't until later that day when we're forced to pair up for a training exercise that Bakugou and I speak again."Ugh," Bakugou interrupts me for the third time in the past three minutes as I'm trying to explain my plan to him, "you are a giant pain in the ass," he informs me.
"Yeah well, I couldn't give a fuck if it ran up and hit me upside the head. Now, are you gonna shut up and let me explain my plan, or do you have a better one?" I exclaim, quickly becoming fed up with his shit.
"Yeah well, your plan sucks," he informs me, not even looking at me as he scopes out the area, so at least he's doing something useful.
"How would you know, you're not even listening to my plan, because you're too busy being an asshole," I finally snap, scowling at the back of his head.
"Maybe if all of your plans didn't start with you being a sacrificial moron, I would actually listen. You're going to get yourself killed at this rate, which is exactly why you shouldn't be here in the first place," he comments, still not turning to look at me.
"Oh yeah? And what do you care if I die? You told me to kill myself a year ago. You'd probably celebrate," I say, now fighting back tears. It doesn't even occur to me that there are cameras and the entire class is watching this go down.
