"Are you crying?" Shawn asked me, grinning.
"Maybe!" I said defensively, wiping my eyes and smiling.
Me and Shawn were having a movie marathon, and he forced me to watch The Notebook after he found out I had never seen it.
"What time is it?" He asked me.
I reached over to the nightstand and grabbed my phone.
"It isssss... 10:24."
"We've watched like four movies. And I'm kinda getting bored." Shawn said, a bit sheepish.
"I am too. I just didn't want to say anything." I replied, grinning.
It was silent for a minute.
"Zander?" The tone of Shawn's voice made me a little nervous, but I tried to brush it off.
"Hm?" I turned to face him.
"Wha... What are we gonna do when I go on tour? With Taylor swift?" Shawn asked. I could tell, he was tense.
To be perfectly honest, I did not think about that at all.
"I, uh, I don't know. We'll figure it out though."
"It's just... I'm really gonna miss you." He said, looking down at his fidgeting fingers.
"Aww, babe. I'll miss you too." I said, scooting closer.
His head snapped up to me, his eyes confused.
"What?"
"You've never called me that before." He said, his ears turning red. I giggled.
"What, do you not like it?" I asked.
"No, I love it actually." He replied, sheepishly.
"Then I guess I'll call you that more." I said, smirking.
"Back to what I was saying earlier..."
"Shawn! That's depressing!"
"I know but if I don't talk about it then it's just gonna weigh on my mind and drive me insane!"
"Okay, okay. What about it?"
"I just, I know this tour is huge, but I wish you could come with me." He said sadly, looking at me with puppy eyes.
"Oh my god, stop. Your puppy eyes are too much to handle." I said, covering my face with my hands.
"Okay, I stopped."
I looked, and there was the puppy face.
"Shawn!"
He laughed, and I grinned.
"I just can't stop thinking about it. I even starting writing a song about it." He said.
"Can I see?"
"Um, yeah, I guess. Hang on, I gotta go get it."
He got up and went out of the room. When he returned, he was holding a worn, leather-bound notebook.
"You can look at all of them, if you want. The one I was talking about is marked."
I saw a small, neon sticky note on one of the pages. I flipped to it, to see lines and lines of lyrics. Shawn's handwriting was messy, but not unreadable.
"Never Be Alone..." I mumbled to myself.
I read over the lyrics, and I was amazed. Gilinsky had said Shawn could sing, but his songwriting was fantastic too.
"Shawn, I love this. It's amazing."
"You really think so?" He asked, scratching the back of his neck.
"Absolutely."
*later*
"What are we gonna dooooo?" Shawn asked me, drawing out the last word.
"I don't knooooow." I replied, imitating him.
We were both laying on one of the beds, upside down, and facing each other. Pretty bored.
"We could get the guys and walk around town."
"You wanna go get them while I change?" I asked, rolling over and facing upright.
"Why are you gonna change? You look great now."
"It's a girl thing."
"Ugh, fine."
As the door shut, I opened my suitcase. I put on light denim shorts and black tank top. I put on a red beanie, and laced up my Adidas hi-tops.
I went into the bathroom, and did my hair while I played music. When I say "did" I mean brushed it and just made sure it looked good.
"Okay, we're gonna leave soo....." Shawn trailed off.
"What?" I asked, still brushing.
"You, uh, you look... Really great." Shawn said. I looked at him, and his eyes were wide and a little dazed.
"You don't look too bad yourself." I replied, setting my brush down.
"Ready?"
"Let's go."
