BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP!

I rolled over and slammed my alarm off, kicking my covers off.

I was especially excited that day. Nobody has ever seen me dance, outside of the people in the studio. I knew I had to look good. I had to make a good impression as a dancer!

Was I stressing about this too much? What the heck is even wrong with me? I never stress out about anything this much.

I took a deep breath, then plunged my hands into my closet.

I decided on a pair of black and gray patterned joggers, paired with a loose, slightly oversized blue tank. I braided my hair on the side, and put on my white vans. I grinned, and put my stuff in my dance bag.

*bzzt!*

I glanced at my phone. It was a text from Taylor.

T: be @ the studio around 10:30-10-45
Z: Kay. See you then ☺️

I couldn't contain my smile. My best friend was about to see me do what I love! Ahhh!

I pulled up to the studio and took my keys out of the ignition. The bounding beat rang in my ears from outside.

I went in and said hi to everyone. I was ecstatic, because I loved the routine we were working on today. I organized everyone into groups to practice the routine. I would be doing the dance with every group.

"5...6... 5,6,7,8!"

About halfway through the second group's routine, the guys showed up. Most of the time, Carter was the one checking me out, but I guess Hayes has a thing for dancers, because I don't think he blinked once during all five routines. I caught Shawn's eye in the mirror, and flashed a wink. He looked a little surprised, and a blush creeped up his neck as the guys began to tease him.

"Alright guys! We're done for the day. Anything I mentioned specifically during the practice, work on it! Other than that, see you at the next class!" I dismissed everyone and walked over to the guys.

"That was amazing." Hayes said. Most of them looked dumbfounded or dazed.

"Yeah, I could tell you thought so." I replied. Hayes smiled sheepishly.

"You ready for your first show?" Taylor asked me.

"Oh god." My stomach turned.

"You'll do great."

"Okay. I gotta go back to my place and change real quick. You guys can come and hang out if you want. It'll only take me like ten minutes to change and stuff."

The guys murmured in agreement.

They all piled into their rental car, and followed me back to my place. As we were all going in, Shawn pulled me aside.

"Hey, Zander?" He gestured for me to talk to him. I walked over to him.

"What's up?"

"I just wanted to tell you two things.
One, you're an amazing dancer. Two, I'm really glad this is the first stop on the tour. I'm looking forward to to becoming better friends with you." He said, a little bit of shyness in his voice.

"Well, now you've given me two things to say." I replied, grinning. He smiled, and I could see him ease up a bit.

"First, thank you. It means a lot. Second, I guess that makes two of us." I said, a bit flirtatious. And with that, I strode back to my room to get dressed, the guys messing with Shawn behind me.

I took like a two-minute shower and got dressed as fast as I possibly could.

"Oh god, what am I gonna wear?"

I put on a loose, black racer back tank and gray hi waisted jeggings. I put a red Reckless SnapBack on backwards over my straight locks, and a random pair of mismatched socks. I would be lacing up my red and black Jordan's when we left. I gave myself a quick once-over, and walked back into my living room.

"Six minutes. You made good timing." Taylor joked as I sat down.

"Shut up."

"So, Zander, other than dancing your heart out, what do you like to do?" Shawn asked.

When Shawn asked me that, I realized how little I actually knew about Taylor's friends.

"Well, I love doing spontaneous stuff, no matter what it is. Midnight surfing, taking a drive to watch the sunrise, anything. But, dancing is all I really do with my time." I explained, laughing a bit at that last part.

"What about you guys?" I added.

"Shawn can sing." Jack G said, throwing Shawn under the bus.

"You can?"

I knew he had to be good at something! You can just tell.

"Well, yeah. My first EP dropped awhile ago, I'm working on my first album, and I'll be opening for Taylor Swift on her next tour." He said shyly.

Taylor Swift? My god.

"Well aren't you just so talented." I joked.

We sat around for awhile, talking and laughing. I liked the guys a lot. They were fun. But very crazy. The show would be interesting.

"What's up everyone? My name is Matt Espinosa, and I have quite a few friends here with me today!"

He introduce the guys one by one. I swear he set me up, because he introduced me and Shawn last.

"And this is Zander. She's been my best friend for as long as I can remember, and I haven't seen her for years since she moved. We were finally reunited yesterday, and now she's part of the tour!" Taylor added to Matt's intro.

"And her and Shawn may or may not be perfect for each other." Nash muttered.

"Nash!" My cheeks burned as the crowd erupted in cheers.

"AWWWWWWW!"

"Alright, let's get this thing started!"

And with that, the crowd roared, and the show began.
