“Ana”

‘That’s not my name…’

“Ana?”

‘…no, I’m not Ana…’

“There you are, are you okay sweetie?” she asked, entering my bedroom with a smile on her face.

“I, I don’t know,” I whispered to no one, while looking out the window and how the forest trees swayed with the winds.

“What?” she asked walking towards me with that smile still playing at her lips.

“…”

“Ana?” she placed her hand on top of my shoulder.

When her hand landed on my shoulder, it felt like she had stabbed me with a red hot poker. “Don’t touch me!” I yelled at her now standing up from where I had been sitting moments before. Shaking, I took some steps back until my back hit the wall.

“Wha-whats wrong? Ana?” she asked also taking some steps back at my sudden outburst.

“Get out.” I growled at her taking steps away from the wall.

“Ana-“

“Get out or I’ll kill you!” I said with a snarl towards her.

“Ana, it’s me, your mom,” she said her voice shaking with each word.

“Debrah!” she turned and left the room quickly.

“I’m not your daughter,” I mumbled looking back out the window.

“They took you from us”

“They took you away from mum, dad, your family”’

Their voices echoed in my head over and over. After closing the door, I laid down on my bed. Closing my eyes I let sleep take over and my memories from four days ago take me into the darkness.

.                    .                    .

I was leaving my friend Leah’s house late at night, while walking down the street; these two men were walking towards me. Looking down for only a second, I looked up to see them standing right in front of me. The taller of the two had short spiky black hair and the shorter of them had fluffy chocolate brown hair.

“Can I-“

“Kida.” The taller one spoke up.

For some reason, the name made my heart flutter and stomach feel light; like it was something really important. “Sorry but I’m Ana. Not Kida” I said backing up a bit.

All of a sudden the shorter one suddenly embraced me in a tight hug. “Kida, we found you. We finally found you” He said happily into my hair.

Pulling out of his grasp, I took some steps back. “I’m not Kida, my names Ana” I said my hands shaking slightly.

“Kida-“the boy started but a hand on his shoulder stopped him. “Big brother” the boy looked up at the taller boy next to him with sad eyes.

“She wouldn’t remember us Seth” he said casting me a sad look that made my heart ache.

“…” looking down at the pavement, he stepped back giving me some space.

“Who are you?!” I almost yelled at the two unknown men.

“I’m Seth” the younger spoke up, not making any eye contact with me at all.
