Trapped in a videogame

Dr Bravestone and the rest

I woke up with a jacket on my shoulders. What? Then I looked around and saw that Alex had fallen asleep on a chair next to me.
"Alex."
"Hm?"
"C'mon Alex wake up."
"Five more minutes Y/N."
When he was whining to sleep some more I heard the game make the sound it does when someone respawns. Alex immediately shot up.
"Did you hear that?"
"Yeah."
"We should wait for whoever comes here and when they reach the bazaar, we go get them."
"Ok."
We sat for a few hours in silence.
"I'm so stoked Y/N. What if it's this Dr Bravestone Nigel talked about?"
"I don't know, maybe it is. But I'm pretty stoked too."
Then we heard a ruckus coming from the bazaar.
"And that's our cue." I said.
We went through the secret tunnel that lead to the bazaar. We got out and saw that Van Pelt was going to shoot the muscular guy which I assumed was Dr Bravestone, and Alex threw a smoke bomb and led the group away and into the entrance to the tunnel.
The muscular guy was about to say something but I shushed him and pointed above us, Van Pelt's goons were above us. But when they left Alex said
"Okay guys so follow me and Y/N and do as we say."
The muscular guy said
"Wait you're Seaplane and you're Alice, the characters that were already chosen."
"Yep that's us, backs against the walls now!" I said.
The stakes flew through the tunnel and hit the skeleton. The muscular guy looked traumatized.
"Gnarly. So, when we saw you I was like no, but then Y/N was like yes it's them. But we're so stoked to see you guys, so stoked. Don't step on the white tiles and freeze!"
I was in the back to make sure we weren't followed. I saw that these guys were pretty scared.
Then we got to the crocodile pit. The muscular guy was about to fall in when Alex stopped him.
"It's a pretty nasty way to die."
They all passed one by one until I was the only one left.
"C'mon Y/N it's ok."
Alex knew I was still pretty scared from what happened the first time. He stretched his arm to hold my hand.
"Y/N just look at me."
I looked into his eyes and started walking towards him while holding his hand. Then one of the crocs jumped up and I almost fell when Alex yanked me over to him and we kind of ended in an akward pose, I was pinned to the wall by him. I could feel my face get red and I kind of saw him blush too.
"S-sorry."
"I-it's ok, thanks for saving me."
"Well, I can't return home without you."
We all got to the shelter.
"Well, I didn't get to introduce myself. I'm Alex."
"And I'm Y/N."
"I'm Spencer." The muscular guy said.
"I'm Martha." The redhead girl said.
"I'm Fridge." The backpack guy said. "And I'm Bethany." A middle-aged man said.
"Bethany? You're a girl?" Alex asked.
"Woman. So, you live here alone?" She asked.
"Yeah, it's just me and Y/N."
"So Alex, how long have you guys been in the game?" Spencer asked.
"A few months or so."
"What?!" Martha said.
"Yeah, since we only have one life left we decided to lay low cause we're pretty much screwed." I said.
"So, margarita anyone?" Alex asked.
Everyone nodded their head.
"So, what's with the candles?" Bethany asked.
"Well, my weakness is mosquitoes which is pretty useful when we're in an open hut in the jungle." Alex said with sarcasm.
Alex handed out the margaritas to everyone except for me. Alex knows even though I'm not in my teenage body I don't drink alcohol. But the rest did drink it. I saw that Spencer and Martha didn't like it and spit it back into the cup. I chuckled softly. But then Fridge came up to them and took their drinks and drank them. He was clearly drunk.
"Alex, Y/N. We need you're help to get in the transportation shed." Spencer said.
"No!" I shouted. "I'm not going back to the place where I died twice and saw my best friend die!."
"I'm not going back there either. The first time we went our hot air balloon didn't take off and we were shot. And the second time we took a fighter jet and were shot down by orangutans. The plane crashed and exploded in flames. And they say piloting is my strength."
"Look I can tell you guys are pretty scarred by what you guys have been through but you're the missing piece! We need you. We'll get out of here together." Martha said.
I looked at Alex unsure what to say.
"Ok, we'll go with you guys." Alex said.
