"Hogwarts? You mean he can go?"

"With certain precautions, yes." The old man said. Dumbledore.

Eleven-year-old Remus stood just outside the door, listening in. He could go, he could go to Hogwarts.

"Hi, what's your name?" A girl had walked up to him during morning break.

"Remus."

"Nice to meet you, Remus. I'm Lily." She sat down. "So how do you like Potions?"

-༓-

"You're friends with Lily Evans." James Potter, a boy in his dorm, said. Remus hadn't gotten the chance to talk to them.

"I guess so," Remus said, continuing to eat.

"And I saw the prank you pulled on McGonagall this morning," James said, sitting down.

"You did?" He asked, surprised.

"Yeah."

"I swear- it was an accident. Please don't tell."

"Of course not, it was brilliant. You want to sit with us?"

He gestured towards Remus' other two roommates. Sirius Black and Peter Pettigrew.

"Ok, sure."

"But I'm a werewolf!"

"And?" James scoffed.

"We don't care," Peter said.

"But I- I'm a monster. I could kill you!"

"You cut your food into little squares and heart your i's," Sirius said. "Excuse me if I'm not cowering with fear, Lupin."

"So it's fine?" Remus asked, deflating. He couldn't believe it. "You won't tell?"

They nodded.

"And Remus?" asked James.

"Yeah?" He said nervously. This was it, they were going-

"You're not a monster." Remus froze. At that moment, Peter, Sirius, and James all came together and gave him a hug.

"Thanks." He whispered.

"What can we do to help?" Peter asked. "You know, to make everything easier."

"Just...be a friend."

"No seriously, you would be getting paid to look at a bunch of dots in the sky. And if you find a new dot, congratulations, you get to name that dot." Sirius said as they walked up to Astronomy class. They were discussing career options in lieu of their scheduled Career Advice session with McGonagall.

"I mean... he's not wrong," James said, laughing, as they walked to their Astronomy class.

"So no for Astronomy," Remus said, laughing. "What about Arithmancer?"

James groaned, taking the pamphlet out of his hands. "No, I will not let you indulge yourself in a life full of maths."

"No, Sirius, you don't understand. Dumbledore let me come to Hogwarts, despite my condition. My parents thought I wouldn't go to Hogwarts. I have the privilege of being here. We could've gotten expelled. I could've hurt- or worse, killed- Snape." Remus looked at Sirius's expression. "He doesn't deserve death."
