Melokuhle's POV

My life could be summarised in three pages, I'm basic and some may even call me boring, my sister included. For a twenty six year old woman you might be wondering why but I've always been satisfied with what I have. Before I bore you to death let me introduce myself, my name is Melokuhle Ngema and I work as an editor, my English is to die for. I am a very rare species and I think most people mistake that as weakness but I believe you can be kind and strong, I'm a sweet bad ass-it's that simple; just don't be fooled by this pretty face.

I wake up and get ready for work-I'm late again, I quickly make coffee and leave .I have to go get my mail but it's empty and I'm not going to walk in those shady corridors by myself, I sigh in relief when I see a man. I walk past him with confidence, woman are being killed everywhere these days so you never know. I put my flask on the floor and rampage my bag for the locker key

''Hi'' Him

Just because you are alone with a woman does not mean you should start a conversation, most men make that mistake but since I'm such a nice person I greet him back

''Hi'' me

'' I'm Lubanzi''

"Melokuhle''

''What a rare name''

I just smile then look away

''Are you usually this anti-social?'' Him

''No, I didn't realise you were trying to make a conversation''

''Hmm'' Him

I glance at my wrist watch and its 08:00am, why is the universe rushing me

''Work?"

''Yeah, I'm late''

''Where do you work?''

''Just past morning side, at the media agency''

"Oh, you must be a very skilled, that place is known for it's reputation''

"I love my job''

''My brother actually ...

I walk away before he could finish

Luckily I caught a taxi quickly. I make my way inside and I greet the security guard, I call him BabNxumalo; he looks at his watch and gives a frown that feels like it's about to start another lecture so I just smile and hurry into the elevator, it's 08:20 now and I've just arrived at my office, I sit down and pretend like I've been here the whole time.

''You're late, where have you been?'' Andrea

''It's a long story, I didn't even have breakfast-just on the go coffee?''

''Again?'' Andrea

''I hate it when you do that, can't I just have my coffee in peace before Sphakeme gets here''

''I really don't know what's happening with you lately but you need to sort yourself out and get that review on Mr Khumalo's desk ASAP before he realises it is overdue ''

''I know and thank you, I will do it now- I promise''

''See you later then''

''Ok''

He walks out and closes the door, I switch my monitor on then reach for my coffee when I realise it's not here, this can't happen-my mom gave that flask to me when I got my first job; it's really special to me, I check again and it's really not here so I decide to forget about it and begin working.

I've buried myself in work for the past two hours and I've completed most tasks, I'm so hungry I didn't take my tea break because I used it to finish the review that Spha could ask for any minute from now. The good thing about my job is that you can leave as soon as you are done and I will be here for a while just watching people leave by the hour.
