Flaming Hatred

~Peril's Pov~

Peril woke up to her alarm clock, First day of High school. she thought and stood up. She was always late for class, like her mother said all the time, " Get up, get ready, you're not late.".

Kestrel was the school coach as well as Dune, and Webs was the boring history teacher, she rocked at math with her friend-ish teacher Mr. Osprey. He had been the only one to talk to her, her twin Sky, was killed in a gun fight 12 years ago.

Walked to her drawers, and pulled out her flame proof shirt. It said: Jade Mountain Dragons! on it, that was the schools football team. She pulled out her shorts and put them on.

The doorbell rang as Peril ran downstairs after she brushed her teeth and combed her hair. She opened the door and let in Clay, Moon, Quibli, and Kingajou. " Hey guys, I was just about to grab something to eat on the way." Peril said and let them in. " Cool, I'm gonna pick up Winter and Turtle, so we should get going." Clay said " 'kay, hey what ever happened to Sunny, Starflight, Glory, and Tsunami?" Moon asked, Clay's face fell " We broke up. The guys went some where and left me behind 'cause I didn't fit in." " Clay, remember, we went to Disney Land?" Peril asked " Yeah, that was awesome." Clay said.

Peril ran into the kitchen snatched three bars and ran out to the living room, " Come on. We can't be late." she said and motioned for everyone to get out the door.

They hopped in the car and drove off to Winter and Turtle's house. When they opened the door Turtle came running out screaming " HELP HELP WINTER'S GONE CRAZY AGAIN!" we looked at Turtle and laughed, walked inside and saw Winter making ice-cream. " I didn't need those bars after all." Peril laughed and Winter jumped " You guys are early." he said and looked at them         " Winter, what are you doing?"  Moon asked " I am making a sweet breakfast for us, because it's High School. At Jade Mountain." Winter said and froze the sweetened milk. Melted it a little in the microwave and gave each of them a scoop. " Thank you!" Peril said, Winter knew about her Fire hands, everyone did. So he had given her a metal bowl and thick spoon.

As soon as they were finished with their ice-cream they ran out, Turtle locked the door and they sped off to school...

Later that day...

Peril fumed. Webs was a jerk, and a boring history teacher. " Peril, no talking in class, detention." he had said, Peril almost ALMOST set him aflame, she WAS NOT talking in class Squid was!

She fumed all throughout Reading, and Writing and at lunch when she sat down, she almost set the table aflame. " Peril HANDS!" Clay had said and Peril say the table melting from the heat of her hands. She hissed and walked away to Squid's table. " Do that again, and you're dead." she whispered to him he flinched and rose his hand to the Cafeteria teacher. Fortunately it was Scarlet, the only teacher who got Peril. " Yes Squid?" she said icily. " Peril said something mean again" Squid said " No, I didn't." Peril said " Squid, come here." Scarlet said. He walked up to her and Scarlet grabbed his ear, " Tell this to the principle. You are a dimwit, and have no friends. You're mother is dead, and your dad is as stupid as you!" She hissed loud enough for Peril to hear. Peril smiled. and walked away. " Why did you do that?" Moon asked He got me detention. Peril thought to her. " Oh." she said.

Scarlet walked elegantly to them. " Peril, you are my favorite student. I need to ask you a favor." she said and motioned Peril to the corner of the cafeteria. Peril heard whispers, " Peril's in trouble again." and " What'd she do I wonder?" and " Peril, evil son of a gun." that last one came from someone named Deathbringer, a friend of Glory's " Says you." she whispered to herself. When they came to the corner Scarlet turned and grinned. " I need you to meet my friend Vulture at the alie. At Sandstorm Way, tonight." she said " Ok, what for?" Peril asked.
