The ray of the morning light seep through your windows, disturbing your sleep. At the same time your alarm goes off. You groan, I have to stop setting my alarms so early. You thought hitting the dismiss button on your phone. It was only 5 a.m but it felt like midnight.
You take a shower and get dressed. You go downstairs to look for something to eat. Nothing. You audibly sigh as you go sit on the couch waiting for your h/l c/h to dry.
An hour passes, your hair is completely dry. You decide to check the fridge again to see if food has magically appeared there. Nope. You look at the clock. 6:30 a.m. You grab you backpack and open the door, it was pouring. You decided to just take it and run to school as fast as possible. By the time you got there you were soaked.
" So much for letting my hair dry." You said to yourself. You manage to get to your locker before Lucinda shows up.
She has long orange hair, having some of it up in a black bow. She had amber eyes. She was a caramel skin tone at best. She often wore a black hoodie, with a single white zigzag stripe in the middle. She also had black shorts on with black boots.
"Hey, whatcha doin'?" Lucinda asked.
"Getting ready for class. Why?" You said in a monotone voice looking at her suspiciously.
" Well.... I was kinda hoping... we could do the. You know, science project together." She said that last bit quickly.
You looked at her a bit puzzled then sighed. You opened the locker and closed your eyes.
" One condition. You can NOT call me constantly on the weekends." You said looking at her.
"Deal!" She exclaimed. She started walking away. " See you later!"
You opened the locker and took what you would need for the first half of the day. You were already regretting agreeing even with the condition.
Pistanthrophobia, the fear of trusting others. You reminded yourself. She knows this. It's odd for her to ask. If I'm being honest, I'm scared of Lucinda. Scared of trusting her...even though she's been with me for the longest time. You shook your head to brush the thoughts off and started heading to class.
*After school*
You and Lucinda walked home. Your head was clouded with questions, but you couldn't understand them. You couldn't make sense of them, couldn't grasp them. Your mind tended to be peaceful. Now however it was like your chrome tabs. There were 19 of them open, 3 were glitching, and you had no clue where the music was coming from. Your wandering random thought were interrupted.
"You okay? You seem more spaced out then usual." She stated.
"Eh... I'm fine." You said, faking a smile. You really weren't. You felt like you could pass out any moment form exhaustion, not to mention you were having really bad anxiety right now. You wanted to run as fast as you could right now to try and lose her. And you almost did 5 times now.
Stupid fears. You thought. You noticed worry in her eyes as you tried to direct your attention to her. You put on hand behind you back subtly, and crossed your fingers behind your back making sure she didn't notice.
" I promise, I'm fine really!" You said. Lucinda perked up, and gave you a smile.
Promises were never something you broke, you would even say that you would die just to keep one. Lucinda knows this. She trusted them and you. It made you uncomfortable to know this. And it upset you that you couldn't do the same.
You made it to your house after a few moments of comfortable silence. You unlocked the door, threw it open, walked in, and set your backpack next the the door before heading over and sitting one the couch.
Lucinda closed the door and walked in. She sat down next to you and took out the materials we needed for the project. You moved to the other side of the couch. Boring, why did I agree to this again? Oh, right I wouldn't have been able to do this on time by myself. Lucinda also won't constantly call me on the weekends.
" Hey, can I stay over tonight?" Lucinda asked you.
"Nope." You replied
" Please!" Lucinda begged. Your answer was still no. Eventually she gave up, but declared the she was staying until after dinner.
