Chapter 8: Rabbit

(A/N: hello readers welcome to Chapter 8, let's see what's going on. Now let's begin)

3rd P.O.V

"It was morning and Mephiles was beginning to wake up although not in good way since the dream that he had made him feel very uneasy but nevertheless he stood up from the bed and proceeded to walk out of the room and goes in the living room looking around the place. He had to admit, the house was rather comfortable, it had more space than the white chamber and it was more decorative rather than just white everywhere. As he arrived in the living room Mephiles noticed that Maria was missing although he knew where she was, he proceeded to walk outside the house and saw that he was right, Maria was indeed in the garden as she was beautifully humming to herself. Something about her really seems to get his attention although he wonders what could it be. Her beautiful looks ? Her singing voice ? Her wings ? Or maybe it was the fact that she's a kind and caring person ? Mephiles wasn't sure what it was but it felt very nice, however he does have doubts on whether he's actually in love with her because if that was the case then chances might be that she may not accepts his feelings and it may be possible. Maria is a beautiful and sweet Ark Angel who has fought to protect the innocents while Mephiles is a hideous creature who has murdered humans, of course those humans deserved it after all the disgusting things they had done to him and the monsters. However he committed murder and he even though he may not consider it and only did it for the sake of the monsters, it was still a bad thing that he has done"

Mephiles: (i'm a fool. Even if i had feelings for her, she couldn't possibly accept a hideous and murderous creature like me..................and yet i still feel like she would accept me. Am i doubting myself rather too much ?)

"As he was stuck on his thoughts, Mephiles suddenly heard a high pitched squeaking sound which got his attention and what he saw gave him curiosity. It was a small white creature with long ears that was walking towards Maria and proceeded to lick her hand earning a giggle from the Ark Angel. Maria then began petting the adorable critter in which it nuzzles around her hand clearly liking the petting. The curiosity of Mephiles grew even further wondering what type of creature could this be, it was certainly not a monster, it looked too normal to be one but Mephiles doesn't seem to know what it is and he wants to find it. He began walking towards Maria and sits next to her which got the attention of the Ark Angel"

Maria: oh ! Good morning Mephiles

Mephiles: good morning Maria. I was sure that you were outside

Maria: "giggles" i do like the outside life. Oh ! Have you ever seen a rabbit before ?

Mephiles: rabbit ? You mean that small creature that you're petting ?

Maria: of course. I'm guessing that you've never seen one before

Mephiles: i never got the chance to interact nor discover other lifeforms apart from monsters

Maria: well. This is your chance right now. Come and pet it

Mephiles: are you sure ? I might frightened it

Maria: don't be silly. Come on, it's not scared of you

"The rabbit then looks at Mephiles having it's attention on him and began walking towards him, Mephiles was beginning to get nervous fearing that he might frighten it however it seems that the rabbit wasn't afraid of him, in fact it was more curious about him. Mephiles then attempts to pet the small rodent as his hand was getting closer to the animal and to his surprise, the rabbit nuzzle his hand and he took this opportunity to pet the creature and it seems to like it. Mephiles felt a feeling of peace when petting the adorable critter and the sight itself actually made him smile in which Maria seems to notice"

Maria: you look happy

Mephiles: huh ? Oh.............well. This is rather peaceful

Maria: i understand. You're feeling happy and comfortable with this new path

Mephiles: maybe i am. But this is better than what my life used to be in the beginning

Maria: well if you want i can show you more of it

Mephiles: you mean there's more ?

Maria: of course ! Life is everywhere we go and it will live on. From the trees and the animals that are part of nature

Mephiles: i see. I've never thought that other lifeforms could exist apart from monsters

Maria: well. Why not seeing them with your own eyes

"Mephiles couldn't believe it, he never thought that the outside world would be filled with different beings of life and perhaps even more discoveries that he can find out and learn from. After all, if Maria was going to teach him then he will gladly accept"
