Love Missed

Darkness.

It was nothing but darkness.

Everywhere around him was nothing but a space of blackness. It's as if his surrounding is one with the gloominess within his heart.

"Shuyi." It took but a word from his father for him to finally broke into a sob. It started out as a whimper and then his whole body was shaking as he weeps into his father's arms.

"Otosan."

"Shuyi, are you sure that you really wanna do this to Shide? Are you really going to just make him wait?

"He left me. It's only right for me to get my revenge.

"But Shuyi..."

Shuyi finally removed himself from his father's embrace as he willed himself to stop from crying. Despite his efforts, silent tears continued to fall from his eyes.

"He promised to be back. He never did.  No until five years later. Did he really think I'll just accept him back that easily."

"Then why did you agree to marry him." Mr.  Zhou's heart hurts for his son. And his guilt is eating him up inside knowing that he's greatly at fault as to why his son suffered during those 5 years. While Gao Shi De is not completely blameless, he is the main reason behind his only son's pain. The thought that Shuyi will hate him for the rest of his life scares him but what scares him most is the thought that he might really loose him this time.

"I'll make him wait like he did to me. Even if he waits for 5, 10 years. No one will show up in front of him at that altar."

Kneeling in front of his son as he silently start to beg for forgivess, Mr. Zhou know that it's time for Shuyi to know the truth.

As his father finished with an "I'm sorry", Shu Yi felt his legs gave up on him as he slimped back into the soft mattress kf his bed.

"Otosan, how could you..."  As realization hit him, he suddenly felt it hard to breathe. Pulling at the btie around his neck,  Shuyi gasp for air as he felt his throat tighten with the mix of emotion he was feeling. He took a step back from his father when his old man tried to reach out for him.

"All this time I thought Shi de... He..."

Gao Shi De knew his plans all along yet played along with it. He knews that Shu Yi has not reslly forgiven him for the 5 years of suffering yet he indulge him and even wanted to still marry him.

"I just wanted to protect you and wanted you to be happy." Mr. Zhou stated, helplessly. He knew he made a grave mistake. When he realized it then, it was already too late. He already hurt his son and he got afraid of just how Shuyi might hate him.

"But you destroyed it." There's venom in his words as he spat them out. If only his father knew just how much pain he had to bear for all these years. And he'd inflected just as much pain to Shide. Oh god! Gao Shi de.

"Go." A simple word but it was enough for Shu yi. He all but run to the door only to come to a sudden halt.

"What if Gao Shi de is no longer waiting." It's been 8 hours since their supposed wedding after all. Gao Shi De isn't that stupid to still be waiting for him, is he?

"Shi de loves you more than anything in this world,son." Mr. Zhou have realized that long time ago.

Zhou Shu Yi took another glance at his watch and at the traffic ahead.

Making a decision, he got off the car and ran.  He ran like his life depended on it. Well, his life does depend on it. His life with Gao Shi De. His life IS Gao Shi De.

Not caring  a bit with the stares of the people, he run with tears streaming down his face as he silently prays for Shi De to still be there. "Please, please, be there."

He felt his world crash as he push the giant door open to find nothing but the vast emptiness of the church. 

"Gao Shi De!" Echoing his own sorrow, his voice simply bounced back against the 4 walls of the place that he could have started his life with Shi De.   "Shi De..."

Fumbling with his phone, he tried calling the man he considers as his other half but he was only redirected to a voice mail. Just then, his phone screen light up.

"Shi De mama" it says he felt shame then fear wash over him as he took the call. "Ma..."

"Yi yi, Shi De... Shi De got into an accident."  And then he felt his world crumble.
