I'm Juliana Lamonsoff. I'm the oldest standing at 14 and in 2 weeks I'll turn 15. My sister Donna is 12 and our little brother Bean is 4. He's still attached to my mother if you understand.

I looked at a picture of my dad when he was young sitting on the mantel. He played basketball with 4 other guys. The phone rang. I picked it up.

"Hello?" I asked.

"Who is this?" asked my grandma.

"Juliana, grandma!"

"Oh! Hello, baby!"

"Hi."

"Where's you father?"

"In the pool with Bean and Donna."

"Why aren't you in the pool?"

"I was about to go in until you called."

"Oh! Well, go take the phone to your father I need to tell him something."

"Okay!"

I walked towards the kitchen. My mom was there.

"Who's on the phone, sweetie?" asked my mom.

"Grandma." I said.

"What does she want?" asked my mom.

"To talk to dad." I said.

"Eric!" My mom shouted, grabbing the phone and I trailed behind her.

"Yeah, honey?" smiled my dad.

"It's your mom!" She smiled.

My dad walked to the pool edge and lifted himself up. He broke the wall.

My mom screamed. "Eric! Donna! Bean!"

I grabbed Bean.

"Thank you, sis!" smiled Bean.

"You're welcome." I smiled.

Donna scoffed and stood up. She dislikes me because I'm not her father's daughter like her. She wants to be the oldest, too but I can't help that. Our dad got up and hit his face on the lawn chair.

"Ouch!" I said.

"Oh!" screamed our mom.

He took the phone from our mom. "Hello, mommy."

His smile faded.

"Juliana! Donna! Bean! Get in the house." said our mom.

We nodded and I picked up Bean. I put a towel on Bean. I slipped off his trunks and found his dinosaur pajamas. I dried him off. I put on his underwear and slipped on his pants.

"What do you think daddy heard?" asked Bean.

"You saw his face didn't you?" I asked.

Bean nodded as he put his arms in his shirt.

"He'll tell us." I smiled.

I buttoned his shirt. He hugged me. I kissed him head. He ran out and bumped into Donna as he left his room. She glared at me. I walked to my bedroom and put on my pajamas.

"Dinner's ready!" shouted my mom.

I walked into the dining room. My mom just set down the salad bowl. She smiled at me.

I sat in front of my dad. "Dad, what did grandma say?"

He looked at my mom then back at me.

"She'll understand. She's almost 15." said my mom.

"Well, sweetie. You know that picture over there." smiled my dad as he pointed the mantel.

"The one where you're wearing a basketball uniform?" I asked.

"Yeah! The man in the middle do you remember how he looked?" He said.

"Yeah. Did he die?" I asked.

"Told you." said my mom.

"Yes, we're going to his funeral this Friday." said my dad.

"Are you coming right back home?" asked Donna.

"We're actually staying at the lake house me and my teammates went after we won." smiled our dad.

"For the whole weekend?" smiled Donna.

"Duh, Donna." I said.

"Juliana! Don't talk to Donna that way!" snapped my mom.

I rolled my eyes. Donna snickered and I gave her Donna the finger. She gasped. I told her to zip it or her teddy bear was going to have it. She started eating her food.

"Don't eat too fast, Donna. You might get a tummy ache." said our mom.

"Mommy, I want some milk!" smiled Bean.

I'm glad I finished my food.

"May I be excused?" I asked.

"Yes, you may! Pack some clothes for the lake even your bikini. I'll pick the dress you're suppose to wear to the funeral." smiled my mom.

"You bought her a bikini?" asked my dad.

"She wanted it and she's the only comfortable to show her body in this family besides Bean." She said.

"Because only sluts keep their figure." said Donna.

"Donna!" shouted my parents.

I threw my fork down and got up. "I hate you, Donna!"

"Juliana!" said my mom.

I ran to my bedroom and slammed the door. I pulled out my suitcase and started pulling stuff out of my closet.

"Sweetie." said my dad as he opened the door.

I sat in my floor surrounded by my clothes. I stared at the floor. I felt my dad's finger under my chin. He lifted my face up. He wiped my tears. He hugged me.

"Donna is grounded this entire weekend unless she apologizes." He said.

"She hates me." I said.

"She doesn't." He said.

"She hates me because I'm the oldest and you're not my dad." I said.

"Donna likes being the boss so I assume that may be true but I am your dad." He said.

"So, are your friends nice?" I smiled, changing the subject.

"Sure but stay away from Higgins." smiled my dad.

"Who's Higgins?" I asked.

"You'll see Marcus Higgins there. He's the one who has the funny hairstyle colored blonde." laughed my dad.

I giggled. "Can I go to sleep?" I asked.

"Yeah, I'll wake you up in the morning to get ready." smiled my dad.

He helped me up. I jumped into my bed. He kissed my head and turned off my lamp. He walked out of my room. I heard Bean giggle as my dad tickled him. All the light went off. I fell asleep.
