There she was. Effortlessly running the field aiming for the homerun, while her friends try to think of a way to out her. It was three against one, and Lauren was still winning against them. Despite the fact that she was focused on the brunette across from her, by the bleachers.
There she was. Silently watching Lauren do what she do best, without exerting much effort. Camila found herself smiling slyly whenever Lauren would catch a glimpse of her and look away as fast as she could. It was very evident, their feelings were evident.
"Focus Lauren." Keana teased. While Lauren stopped by the Short stop, trying to catch her breath.
"Shut up." The green-eyed girl replied, glaring at her smirking friend.
Keana made a fake zipper on her mouth and zipped it, while Lauren rolled her eyes. Truth is, she was trying her best to focus on the game. But the fact that Camila was by the bleachers, watching them was nerve racking for her.
"Why is she here?" Lauren asked. Keana paused for a moment, before smiling at Lauren.
"She's on first aid duty. Ms. Amber wanted to make sure that every athletes' are in a good condition tomorrow." Keana smiled, Lauren only nodded still kind of confused.
She didn't know why, but she was really nervous. It was like she had no room for failures. Probably because her goal was to impress the brunette, completely clueless that Camila was already impressed.
"Hello Friend." Vero chuckled when Lauren ran to the third base, while the ball was still mid air.
"Why is she here?" Lauren asked the same question, confusion in her eyes.
"Because she wanted to be here." Vero smiled, while Lauren furrowed her eyebrows.
"Camila and the other student assistants are given certain sports to watch over, they're assigned individually." Vero added.
"Oh, she was assigned here." Lauren nodded.
"No." Vero smiled.
"You just said they're as-"
"She wanted to be here. Wanted Lauren." Vero chuckled, emphasizing the keyword.
"Why would she want to be here?" Lauren rolled her eyes at her friend who just chuckled.
"Because it's her crush's sport, you're here." Vero winked before pushing Lauren to run for homerun.
"What the hell?" Lauren mumbled in confusion as she ran for homerun. She didn't know if she was confused because Vero practically pushed her to run for homerun, or because of her friends words.
"Lauren, watch out!" All of her friends and teammates yelled. Before she knew it, she felt a pressure on the side of her neck and everything went black.
"Shit." Camila mumbled when she saw Lauren stumble upon reaching homerun.
"What the hell was that!" Coach Ralph yelled, glaring at one of the field catchers.
"I'm fine." Lauren mumbled, rubbing the back of her neck as she stood up.
"I'm really really sorry Lauren!" Sophia apologized, practically kneeling beside Lauren and holding the raven's hand.
When Lauren smiled at the woman and squeezed her hand, Camila's facial expression changed.
"Calm down." Normani mouthed at the brunette, who seemed to be glaring at Sophia. It was an honest mistake, and Lauren didn't really mind it at all.
"I'm really sorry." Sophia sniffled, she was in the edge of crying.
"Hey! I'm fine." Lauren chuckled, standing up and even flexing her biceps.
