Chapter 3- The New Cap

***a/n: In honor of the last episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier being released today, I am going to publish the next two chapters instead of just one.***

John and I walked out of the cafe and got into a car that I had waiting outside on the curb. We both got into the back seat and sat in silence during the entire drive to the ex-SHIELD headquarters in DC.

We pulled into the parking garage and got out of the vehicle. John immediately stood up straighter, walked with an even cockier demenior than normal. He pushed open the doors of the building like he owned the place, saying hello to every person we passed.

I rolled my eyes and followed him over to the elevators where we got in. "Where to?"

"I need to go to the place where you keep your files on all known enhanced persons." I continued to keep my eyesight straight on the metal doors in the elevator.

He reached for the button that stopped the elevator and pulled it, making the metal box we were in come to an abrupt stop. "Why the hell do you need those files?"

I kept staring straight even though I could feel he was getting closer to my face. "I just need to look something up. Now, if you stop asking questions, we'll be done faster." He scoffed before he pushed the button again, making the elevator start to descend.

He led me through the hall of shelves with files on it to a steel door with a pin pad on the side of it. He turned his back to me so he was covering the numbers as he entered them in, unlocking the room.

I started to walk through the door, but he held me by my wrist to stop me. "Either I'm going in there with you, or you give me your phone. Can't have you stealing government property." I pulled my phone out and aggressively slapped it into his opened hand before entering the room.

The door shut behind me as I stared at the metal table in the middle of the room which was surrounded by a bunch of drawers. I walked around the room by the drawers until I saw one named Mind Related Abilities.

I pulled the drawer open and saw only 3 files, Maximoff, Wanda Moore, Elisa Unknown

I pulled out the one that said my name and brought it to the table. I opened the folder and read the first page, which really had all the information I was looking for.

Elisa Moore, Avengers

Mind Reading, Mind Manipulation

Birth: October 15, 1992

Parents: Alyssa Moore (deceased) / Ethan Moore (deceased)

Siblings: No Known

Offenses: Was on Avenger radar from 2012-2015 for dangerous use of powers (cleared in 2023)

The other information on that page was irrelevant to my search. I needed to find out who else was able to get into someone's mind, and they had to be on government radar.

I abandoned my file and went back to the drawer. I pulled out the Unknown folder and brought it back to the table.

Offenses: Has been seen following around female on our radar (Elisa Moore)

So this was the person who has been getting in my head. I turned the page and examined all the pictures that had been taken of this woman. I never saw her face, but her hair was blonde and wavy, she almost looked identical to me, if that was even possible.
